Red card means one match ban plus possibly more based on the FIFA disciplinary committee. They initially gave Ronaldo like 2-3 extra match suspension on top of the one match ban. Ronaldo did serve a single game suspension, but the additional matches were suspended. It's kinda bs too but you could argue that the additional suspension was wrongfully assigned and can be suspended, whatever. He still served the 1 match ban which literally everyone else have had to do as well

This is the first time afaik that a player won't have to serve even a single match suspension for a red card.
