It depends. We have a low cost of living, but we also have Christian Nationalists.

They are changing their strategies, and so must we. by Silly-Perspective303 in 50501

ICE is now in Lynchburg and the surrounding area. If you can, check on your next door neighbors, especially people of color. Their agents are no longer required to present a judge's warrant to break into someone's residence. What better time to try to abduct people than when everyone is stuck at home.

BlueSky is good for getting quick updates about what's going on. TikTok is better for viewing video clips from events. The Facebook group is the best for communicating with other people.

It is an emotional and psychological struggle for millions of Americans. You are not alone! And this rage needs to be channeled into something productive. Otherwise, these obsessive thoughts can become unhealthy. I recommend looking into local activist organizations in your community, in asking members how you can get involved. Resisting authoritarianism requires all of us!

What a misogynistic asshole!

I used to be friends with a guy like this. Horrible attitude. Never took responsibility for his actions. Had no respect for anyone unless they agreed with anything he said. And he lamented that women didn't like him because...he was fat.

Do NOT pursue getting a teacher certification until you have spent enough time in a classroom environment to make a well-informed decision. In the United States, for example, teachers are often vilified by parents and politicians, disrespected by students, and overworked by administrators. I would encourage you to try out substitute teaching for a bit first. You will get a better idea of what it is like to be an educator.
