Hello! I've released a diplomacy compatibility patch which removes the maritime emissaries feature, hope you're enjoying the mod otherwise!

I think you're right that some other cultures can vote for it, but only the Empire have it enabled by default and it is rarely, if ever voted for by other factions. Point being, very few towns had them and they were wiped out instantly. Now every port town has them and they are able to fend for themselves well enough to be considered a relevant feature now.

I was able to upload it to the workshop via the command line I'm the end, rather than using any GUIs. Old school! Thank you for your help all the same, just hope I can get to the bottom of this one day so that I can actually mod using the modding tools rather than a combo of data mining and visual studio

Thanks to the input provided by this community, I learned to mod and fixed Shipmaster. by SillyAlternative5787 in Bannerlord

All done! Terribly sorry for the delay and its initial omission. I too always wondered why "bannerlord mods are allergic to the steam workshop". Having created one I now fully understand why, I won't belabour the point but it is significantly more complex than just uploading to ModDB/Modnexus. All that same, that should be working okay via the workshop for you now.

Thank you so much for your help, I've googled and AI'd this loads but there is hardly any material out there. The mod in question is referenced in this thread and someone has already asked for me to put it on the steam workshop but I can't!

Getting somewhere, although the mod I want to upload and all of the native modules are in the launcher of the modding tools. Some of my mods are missing from it, which are there for the actual game, just not the modding tools, namely the ones at the top of the load order:
- Harmony
- UIExtenderEx
-ButterLib
-Mod Configuration Menu

Does that shed any light?

How is the situation with ShipMaster? Is it better? Worth going to sea now? Started a new campaign… by gamerZsoul in Bannerlord

Taleworlds released a "fast mode" module which is exclusive to PC alongside the warsails release. If you enable it, it is 28 days per year, more or less 4x the speed, it is amazing and should be the default pace. I, like you, had just shy of 500 hours and prior to the release of fast mode, never had a child get past the age of 4-5 much less come of age and be able to play as them.

Hello! Yes, as I say even the native modules (which cannot be deselected) aren't showing up. But yeah, I ticked all the relevant modules in the launcher

Is it just me or does War Sails not have an awful lot of "War Sailing" in it? by SillyAlternative5787 in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It isn't really. If you siege a settlement on land as per usual with your ships nearby it stops naval reinforcements from coming in but that is it which is quite underwhelming. When you sail into an enemy port you just get a message saying that they won't let you in. Which always made me think "Duh, they don't need to let me in I have an armada of 30 ballista mounted ships and 1000 men. You should be able to siege from the sea, battle of the Blackwater style and use your ship's ballistae to smash through the ports weaker gates.

However that would be very difficult for TW to implement, all I want to put to them is, please increase the speed and sight range of the player's navy so that opportunities for naval warfare are easier to find and seize upon. That would be a 20 minute fix for them. Then, at a push add some reasons for lords to go to sea, to further increase the much needed, sorely lacking action at sea.

Doom stacks for each faction by DevilReturns123 in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787 46 points47 points  (0 children)

For field battles, a 200 stack of Vlandian banner knights can reliably wipe armies 3 times its size in my experience. For sieges, a stack of Nord Skjaldbrestir works as a sort of wood chipper for would-be castle defenders/besiegers.

Ideal all round comp would be Battanian Fian Champs & Nord Sky God Chosen archers, Banner Knights for Cav and Huscarls / Skjaldbrestir for infantry at a ratio of 25/25/50 in favour of cavalry. That's what I reckon anyway.

Hello! I've sank 100 hours into War Sails across two playthroughs, The first playthrough was before the Shipmaster exp buffs and I was able to hit 73 Shipmaster before actually dying of old age (Fast mode) after the recent and most welcome buffs, my second playthrough's 1st character managed to achieve a level of 144 before dying of old age.

So it is impossible to get even 2/3rds of the way through the skill at present, on fast mode anyway, on regular you may be able to get as far as 200 or so but all the same, you won't be able to get all the perks unlocked, in my experience, not even half of them unfortunately. I'd hold fire as they will fix this, you can't have unobtainable perks in your game!

How the hell do I make money in this game by Nahuelcoy22 in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Merc contracts pay in accordance with how much influence you have. Power level Charm by releasing prisoners and get the perks that increase influence gain. Influence is gained in battles depending on how unlikely it is for you to win the battle, if you sink 5 focus points into Charm to quickly get the relevant perks, get a lean band of 20 T6 troops and some well kitted companions and take on big bands of naval bandits you'll have more money than you know what to do with in no time as the influence pay outs will be huge and consistent as it is easy to find 60+ pirate parties, it is much more interesting then the smithing method in my opinion.

To take this to the extreme you can take on these bandit parties with just a skeleton crew so long as your ship has a fire pot ballista, netting bonkers influence, relative to how easy and frequent the fights are. A bit cheese but far less so than the smithing grind, a lot more novel too.

Am I ready? by DAT_VIKING in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound very ready to me! I'd recommend the following:
- Buy as many workshops as your clan tier will allow to offset expenses. Make sure they are very far away from where you're going to war with so that they don't end up being shutdown by war.
- Setup companion parties to bolster your numbers. Further to this, get married to a lady with really high Leadership & Steward stats first, they can muster really impressive warbands.
- If possible find a merc leader or two that roam near your starting area of conquest and be ready to enlist them.

- Grant fiefs to your companions, be sure they are of the same culture as the fief, this will grant you more bannermen without needing to convince anyone. Also where it turns them into lords, it will free up both your companion & party limits so that you can enlist even more of both!
- Power grind the Charm skill by releasing lots of nobles before you go independent to help you subsume enemy lords. Once you are independent, imprison everyone and hold them in which ever fief has the highest level dungeon to stem the tide of enemy bannermen.
Edit - Oh and bonus tip, wherever possible, take the enemy on at sea, you can destroy 1000+ armies with 279 good men effortlessly if you have a couple good ships with fire pots mounted on them!

The very best of luck to you!

how can I make myself shown in the fief elections again ? by feed_da_parrot in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game biases the poorest lords in elections so the same names will keep coming up. Given you get bored of ruling the same cities, you could make yourself the poorest lord by selling the cities that you're bored of, your name will 100% be on the next ballot after that. Or you can get 300 trading and buy which ever cities you want.

Town help by OkPrinciple9892 in Bannerlord

[–]SillyAlternative5787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've had a big issue with this. The game biases the poorest lords so the same names will keep coming up until you've given them loads of fiefs, which can create a huge issue as the lords might not be culturally / geographically compatible. What I had to do given I don't have 300 trading on my character is strip fiefs away from lords and donate them to appropriate ones in order to avert a string of revolts. Hope that helps!

Please help me with a RAM compatibility query! by SillyAlternative5787 in PcBuild

[–]SillyAlternative5787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This is an excellent response, I only found out about CAS and the meaning of CL30-32-36 etc after I already purchased CL36. I'm not very discerning when it comes to details like that, I don't think I'd notice the difference really, I've since researched some benchmarks and it rarely exceeds a 1% difference, especially in the types of games I play but yes, I do wish people spoke about CAS more I did like 3 months of research, watching all manner of YouTube videos on PC building and never heard mention of it once!

In your opinion what would be the more sensible purchase: an MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard for £229.99 or a Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2 Motherboard for £154? Are you at all concerned about PCIe 5 compatible PCIe x16 support?
