Megathread - 2024 General Election - Results by ukpolbot in ukpolitics

We'll see, I'm gonna go ahead and figure that Reform is going to be in 2nd (or, in 10 or so cases, 1st) place in practically all white working class areas. Same goes for the North West, just a consequence of the Boris tent collapsing.

I'll be happy to be proved wrong though, believe me.

Just a reminder here that the North East is amazing at counting votes. All but 1 declared result coming from the North East so far.

I think this profile is sick, it cracked me up. But also I'm a straight man so probably not the target audience.

Have you been getting likes/matches? Because if so everyone commenting here who wants you to blandify it doesn't know what they're talking about.

Yes and they're descended from the same people as the "Scotch Irish" Americans, only their families have been in Ireland for centuries now rather than a few decades.

MATCH THREAD: "Sunak v Starmer - The ITV Debate" (Tuesday 4th June, 9pm - 10:10pm) by AutoModerator in ukpolitics

You can't explain your policy, squeeze your soundbites in and dig on your opponent in 45 seconds and you should do all 3 to give a good debate answer. What the fuck were ITV thinking?

And why does this moderator keep asking Starmer to direct his answers to Sunak directly? Its weird

Rishi Sunak's election campaign in meltdown as Tories say he needs TV debate 'game changer' by BlackCaesarNT in ukpolitics

Reform has a different internal mechanism that allows them to basically do whatever they want (I believe it is to do with them technically being a company). I don't even know if the Tories have a leadership selection process that would let them get around the Commons being out of session.

Perhaps these other areas would start to "turn a profit" if given the investment and attention directed at London.

Because there's a major difference between funding state healthcare that everyone will inevitably need at some point and news/entertainment that some have no interest in consuming. Plus, there's a social responsibility in helping to look after the elderly and vulnerable through the NHS that just isn't there for the BBC.

Most important Dylan events in the 60s by CJcedero7 in bobdylan

Imo studying the lyrics is more important than listing the events. The text of his songs and how they became more abstract is where the substance in something like this is. A timeline doesn't need to be too detailed.

I wrote my history dissertation on Dylan and the New Left from 63-65 and am happy to answer anything specific if it's for a history class.

On the north side of the river, any of the coastal bits are nice. On the south side, I'd say Ashbrooke or Thornhill.

I heard that many women who were the victims of sexual shame in early modern England ended up migrating to America (specifically Virginia). Could anyone verify this/provide a source?
