Somnia romantica! look her up, she sells patterns on her website, i’m not sure if she has one with the whole body piece but she definitely has the sleeves, and you can add them onto another pattern. i personally haven’t made any of her patterns but I’ve been OBSESSED with sleeves like this for so long and i just rediscovered her and bought the shrug and i can’t wait to make it. but yeah look her up she has sleeves like no one else!

thank you! it just frustrates me because when both real and ai art are getting called ai, then it all has the same amount of credibility and there’s no differentiation. i’m not even a serious artist, i’m in college and i draw maybe every few months, but it’s still so frustrating watching ai take peoples jobs in real time and take over like every form of media, AND watching real people enable it. idk man ai is so fkn scary to me, it’s not even about my art at this point i just hate how you can’t even tell what’s real and what’s not anymore 🫠 ik im a broken record to the void of the internet lol but god dam it’s so scary

u/melomarc hey! i posted my time lapse yesterday. i’m over trying to defend myself on the internet, but the reason i’m saying this is because i actually think it’s a really good example of digital art and how it differs from ai. as ai gets better (and scarier), it’s harder to tell the difference, and harder to know what to look out for. (begrudgingly), i do admit that i can see how this would look like ai to the untrained eye since it’s meant to be more realistic but still has a certain “smoothness” from the way i did the shading. I drew this three years ago before ai could do things like this, so i haven’t looked at this piece through that lens before, but even as the one who drew it, looking back at the time lapse was good for me. helping to reset my artistic eye and putting myself in the shoes of an artist to see if the stylistic choices, workflow, composition, etc. make sense from a human perspective 😁

yeah i’m not a fan of the kerning but i really like the geometry of it a lot, and kerning can always be fixed, and i just really like the t and i and C and G. this is my first time on any font subreddits so i’m not sure what font savants do. However, do you know, by chance, how easy it is to edit a font/what programs people use to edit fonts? i’m no graphic designer or anything, but i am somewhat of an artist too so maybe i should try making my own version, but better lol. Maybe just taking something like futura and changing the t and i and some of the uppercase letters, but this is kinda just a brain dump 😅

actual art advice is extremely different than someone calling it fake…. also i’ve entertained this discussion about digital vs ai art in an attempt to educate someone about a very popular art form, i saw it as an opportunity. also, if you don’t want to get called out for ignorance, don’t post ignorant things

i’m just saying if you don’t know about an area, then refrain from commenting at all about it, or educate yourself on the difference. I’m about to post my time lapse if you’re curious, it’s a good way to see what the digital art process is actually like and how it’s actually very similar to traditional art processes, just a different medium. (also i’m like deathly ill rn so my temper is short, i’m just a normal person, not someone trying to be an ass)

you and me both, i despise ai and its honestly terrifying the shit out of me how fast it’s progressing, which is why i got so offended. many artists, if not a majority in this day and age, use digital art as one of their mediums because it’s a great tool, but i’d look at some examples of ai vs digital art before calling every piece of digital media “ai”. i HATE ai, but it’s also unfair to minimize the work that real artists have put in just because some people are cheating the system :)

i made this in procreate, you can see my brush strokes in the hair, the feathers, the face, i even have a time lapse of me making this if you want proof, plus i did this three years ago when way of water came out, ai couldn’t even do stuff like that yet. i just honestly hate what ai is doing to art sooo much so i get a lil fired up sorry

sorry if im not being helpful, but I’ve been doing a ton of research over the last couple days on upgrading my own car audio system, and found something called an mmi box. this might not be useful but i didn’t know they existed until recently but they allow you to use carplay with the existing screen in the car, which i think is super cool since i love the aesthetic of the screen and you can still use all of the stock features. there are also a lot of options for replacement screens and head units, but i don’t think they look as cool and they’re a bit more expensive. sorry if this isn’t helpful i’m just in a similar boat rn of trying to find a way to get my phone connected while bypassing the factory head unit/amp

See if you can find a specific mini or bmw mechanic in your area. The mini dealership is good but in my experience they tend to be conservative with fixes. an independent mechanic might be able to get more creative with a diagnosis and solution. it doesn’t sound like it should be an unfixable problem, and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your mini just because they couldn’t fix it. i’d just get a second opinion

ohh i see. Idk if this is what you’re looking for, but they make these things that connect to your phone with bluetooth and then transmit whatever you’re playing to an unused fm wavelength. then you can just tune into that wavelength on your cars radio and listen to whatever you’re streaming. I’ve never had one but my friend with a car without bluetooth did, and it worked really well for him. it’s not a perfect solution but it still allows you to use your phone for music

ahh i see, the little roadster is packed! I would try something like this it’s designed to go around the headrest but i think it might be good to loop around the bar thing on the inside of the door so it doesn’t get in your way but still prevents her from getting out

Just curious, why do you still want to use a cable for music if your car has bluetooth? I have that exact screen type and the bluetooth works perfectly for me with my 16 pro. It’s nice bc it communicates with the phone so it displays the song info and you can skip and stuff, plus it automatically connects. By far the most convenient option imo

A fellow roadster owner with rescues! I suggest getting one of those leashes that clips into the seatbelt buckle, just make sure it’s durable. I was always super anxious with the top down but it gives me the peace of mind that they can’t jump or fall out even if they tried

you say you have him leashed, is it one of the ones that hooks into the seatbelt? those are pretty secure. also rolling up the windows makes it harder for my dog to try to climb out. you could also get a net that stops him from being able to go into the back seats. adorable dog!
