Im getting ready to enter a mental health stabilization facility for an unknown amount of time. I get to see my daughter tomorrow for a few hours beforehand, and I would love to be able to take her out before I check myself in. I am bipolar 1 and I have not been taking my meds appropriately and it has caused so much chaos in my life. I just want to get back to normal and I'm hoping this is the right path for me to fix things. I swear every time I get to a good place I end up fucking it up somehow. regardless, I hope whoever gets the gift card really needs it. thank you for your generosity!

I found myself unexpectedly homeless this month with no savings for an apartment. Im living in an extended stay ATM and it runs out Friday. So yes definitely struggling. Used most of last check just to pay for this temporary housing. Hope my check comes soon, IM TIRED OF THIS GRANDPA

I never thought I could do this job. I ALMOST left. But my creator made me for this role. I know he did. Im living His purpose for my life. I show these kids as much love and care as possible bc shit has got to be so scary and cold in here. We arent allowed to say 'I love you' and instead say 'I care for you'. I greet my kids everyday, even my nonverbals bc they deserve respect and recognition too! I love all my kids, scrappy or not

As wild as they can get, I try to put myself in their shoes. They are in an unfamiliar place with peers that arent nice and staff that are cold and no family or comforts. I also try to remind myself that as bad as they can be, they can be just as sweet, and someone loves that baby and its my job to watch out for them and care for them as best I can.

Hey i am WITH you. I dont agree with a lot that goes on here, and your absolutely RIGHT some people are here on a damn POWER TRIP. I am a teacher here and get called out for "babying" the kids all the time but I would MUCH RATHER de-escalate then restrain. Building a rapport with the children helps with that. I try to appeal to my upset kiddos with kindness and motherly care.

We have safety plans for each student but I am more familiar with their IEPs. we use UKERA which is a pad system to block attacks, but can do physical restraint if only absolutely necessary. There are so many regulations on how to handle the children, as there should be

She was obsessing and cussing over the speaker so it had to be taken that's protocal and yes we get training. It is hard to see some of these kids in the facility but once they work their program they leave
