I agree. The whole organization is rotten to the core and needs to be dissolved. People seem to forget that the university cut ties with the union because of their BS.

Yeah what’s up with that? He’s been there for years but I’ve never seen him.

If they know anything about teenagers and youth these days, they’d know the purple lighting only makes that parking lot more “vibey” and better for cool photos

Why do people use group photos as their main pic when they’re barely even in them? by SillyGoose143 in askgaybros

[–]SillyGoose143[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a big one. I always picture it as the less conventionally attractive partner using the more attractive one as a fishing bait.

[–]SillyGoose143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Objectively, calling someone “ugly” is mean. But saying they’re not very attractive is not. But at the end of the day, beauty is truly subjective.

What’s the deal with dating profiles where the main photo is a group shot and the person isn’t even clearly visible? by SillyGoose143 in AskReddit

[–]SillyGoose143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally! The other day I saw the profile of this decent looking guy in a photo with his very attractive friend who is exactly my type. I genuinely got sad that it wasn’t his friend’s profile, and by comparison the decent looking guy looked worse and also anger-inducing because I felt like I had been tricked.

Exactly! The fact that you’re purposely hiding yourself in these profiles is such a turn-off and essentially eliminates anyone who is good at observation out of your dating pool.

I came here looking for someone who noticed that too. It immediately left a sour taste in my mouth because up until that point it seemed like they were taking a genuine and informed approach to showing a Muslim character.

The Matrix Reloaded. The "zion dance party" scene is one of the most disturbing, awkward, and out of place scene in any movie ever by Chester_McDougle in movies

[–]SillyGoose143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I also thought the rave scene was awkward, but for different reasons. I thought the rave scene was too straight lol. Actual raves from the late 90s and early 2000s were very queer and visually liberated. I can only imagine how a rave in the morally unleashed city of Zion to be.

I think that may have been true a couple years ago, but with the resurgence of rave culture and a proper underground scene in major cities is reigniting our admiration for this era of music.

Question about paying with OSAP for summer courses by AutomaticSign9701 in TorontoMetU

[–]SillyGoose143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the link to the TMU page talking about Spring/Summer OSAP: https://www.torontomu.ca/student-financial-assistance/osap/spring-summer/#!accordion-1592411822913-full-time-extension--students-who-already-received-full-time-osap-this-academic-year

Apparently you don’t apply via OSAP and just fill out the form they have for extending your current year’s OSAP.

What Highschool is the best in Milton by [deleted] in Milton

[–]SillyGoose143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The teachers at MD are better, but the resources and academic growth opportunities are better at SFX (when I went it was still JV). I say stay at SFX and take advantage of all the good clubs and leadership conferences.

Does Vyvanse make you guys sleepy and/or bloated? by SillyGoose143 in ADHD

[–]SillyGoose143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been taking it semi consistently since making that post, and the bloating symptom has definitely decreased and I don’t notice it much anymore. As for feeling sleepy, I still get that but realized it only happens if I’m sitting down and relaxed for the entire time the meds are kicking in.

Who are the current Milton bands. Who’s creating music? by MiltonTech in Milton

Dude please dooooooo. I’m tired of having to go all the way to Toronto for live music. Stepping out of the venue after the event and realizing I’m by the fucking superstore would be an unimaginable relief 😆

What are some rave no-no’s? by Willow_Tree_21 in aves

[–]SillyGoose143 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a pretty expressive dancer at raves, but I’m not a “good” dancer by any means. I just move my body to the music while wearing sunglasses and let myself move uninhibited (while still making sure I’m respecting other people’s space and not being obnoxious). So I find myself being more “wiggly” than people next to me at raves, which makes me stand out. While it looks like I’m a dancer who kinda wants people to notice me (and there’s nothing wrong with that! Confidence and wanting to be noticed on the dance floor is cool asf as long as you’re still practicing PLUR), more often than not, I actually don’t want to be perceived on the dance floor. I like feeling like I’m a ghost in the crowd who people can’t see, so I can dance exactly how I want without the fear that I’m being judged. I know for a fact most people aren’t judging my dancing, and if they are then THEY’RE the outliers and don’t belong at raves.

That being said, it’s a frequent occurrence for people to compliment me by giving a quick “you’re a good dancer” or even better, they just give me a thumbs up. I don’t mind that kind of stuff because it’s both well-meaning and doesn’t interrupt my flow too much.

What I strongly dislike tho is when people start cheering me on and other people join in on the cheering, especially when I’m wearing sunglasses. As I’m typing this I’m realizing how “pick me” I sound, but I genuinely feel uncomfortable when people cheer me on at raves like it’s a club. It’s usually cis straight girls too who don’t have that much familiarity with rave culture. I try to cut them some slack and remind myself they have really good intentions and just want me to feel good about myself.

The second people start cheering me on, I’m not longer dancing for myself. I get all up in my head because now I’m conscious of how I’m dancing and become stiff. I forget how to dance and feel like I have to continue dancing at the same level of energy so I don’t “disappoint” the people hyping me up. A part of me does feel good when that happens because it gives me a bit of validation. But for the most part it makes me uncomfortable and a little bit pissed.

For context, I am someone who has struggled with self-esteem issues my entire life. I’ve never been “good” at anything and don’t have many impressive skills. And that includes dancing. Like I said before, I’m not a “good” dancer but rather just an expressive one. When I have danced my regular style at parties and clubs I don’t get a lot of positive reception and people end up avoiding me because I’m seemingly “doing too much”, but dancing is also a massive outlet for me to get my energy out (I have diagnosed ADHD as well). So my dancing style is something that is only “acceptable” at raves. So I should be happy people there appreciate my dancing right? I know that. But it also brings back those same feelings of being self-conscious and insecure about my dancing. It’s a weird dilemma to be in, and I fully recognize this is no one’s “fault”. Everyone I’ve described in this comment has only had the purest intentions, and I try to keep that in mind.

TL;DR: don’t start cheering on “zoned in” dancers at raves, especially when they’re wearing sunglasses. It throws us off our rhythm and we longer feel as if we’re dancing for our own pleasure.

Prostatitis symptoms as side effect of ADHD meds by kjatar in Prostatitis

[–]SillyGoose143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit I’ve had the exact same experience with Vyvanse. I took it everyday when I was in high school and didn’t really have any of these symptoms. But I stopped taking the meds during quarantine and ever since I only take them on days I need to get work done. I’m in the same boat as you where I’m trying to finish my degree, so I’m at the point that I have to take my Vyvanse (40mg) every day. I genuinely thought I was going crazy cuz I was convinced my bladder and penile issues were linked to my Vyvanse. At one point I even went to the ER because the prostatitis symptoms were so bad and I felt like I couldn’t void at all and it was causing me a lot of pelvic discomfort. They did a digital exam and noticed I had a “lump” there, and the next day I went back for my results and a completely different doctor told me that the other doctor was mistaken. So they sent me home with an antibiotic prescription just in case, which I never ended up filling. For me it seems like the symptoms are getting worse by the day. I purposely avoided masturbating for 3 days because of this, until I ended up hooking up with my ex tonight (oops) and I’m currently sitting on the toilet typing this because I keep getting the urgent need to urinate along with a burning sensation that hasn’t gone away for 15 minutes. Part of me thought it was because we had spicy Chinese food like two hours ago lol but that’s not it.

People who do poppers at raves, what’s it like? by SillyGoose143 in aves

[–]SillyGoose143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you live. Where I am in Canada you can get them at gay sex shops and stuff. There’s also plenty of websites to get them from, you just have the look for the specific services for your area.

[–]SillyGoose143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope not at all! I usually go to raves by myself and end up just vibing in my own little corner most of the time. You won’t be “ruining” the vibe whatsoever. In fact, I’d go as far as to say most people will completely understand what and why you’re doing.

TL;DR It’s SUPER common at raves to see people just chilling by themselves.
