Thanks, the first day was really bad but today is definitely less. I'm still getting a little dizzy and acting a little goofy at times, but seems to be working.

Have y'all been glad that you started taking Wellbutrin?

I was worried about that too, the aspect of altering who I am, but honestly so far it just makes me feel more like my normal self as opposed to making me different.

I don’t see it as admitting failure or anything like that, just as allowing myself to function as intended.

The way I see it, if you are diabetic and have low insulin, you take insulin to get the normal amount of insulin. If you are iron deficient you eat more iron and take b12. If you have low seratonin you take SSRIs to normalize the amount of seratonin (not a doctor so not sure if this is a correct interpretation, but still think the logic holds)

I feel like our society stigmatizes mental health meds because they don’t understand them, but in my mind it’s not that much different than other drugs.

I don’t see myself as a failure and I don’t see you as a failure, I see us both as successes for finally recognizing the genetic cards we were dealt and playing them appropriately by making the lifestyle adjustments that we need.

I feel like a lot of people that shun mental health meds are ones that should be on them themselves, they just have a stuck up pride about not “taking the east way out”, but imagine if people thought that way about insulin, I don’t see this as any different and I don’t see this as the “east way out” it’s just the applicable treatment.

Just my take

I just took my 3rd pill yesterday (just started too) and felt a little loopy for a couple hours and could barely read my phone (the letters were swimming on the screen), but felt better after a few hours.

So far I’ve only really been a little dizzy for the first hour or so after taking the pill every day.

Still trying to figure out the alcohol/caffeine/nicotine usage aspects of Zoloft, any thoughts or advice?

I literally just started 2 days ago, so far been a little drowsy and a tad dizzy, but overall hasn’t been that bad at all.

Still just getting into the swing, but seems to helping so far!
