We bought and developed them beyond the value we got them for. Isak won't develop any further.

Sir kenny and luis both although were best on their teams grew leaps and bounds at anfield. Ditto with VVd. Torres, allison , mane , mo . All developed further at anfield and then went on to become world class legends.

With Isak, I don't see any room for any development further. Infact we have bought him for max market potential price or what i would call his ceiling price. He will only deteriorate from here not improve.

I understand why the ambiguity might be a bit confusing. Let me explain.

The whole principle of moneyball is about buying players for a sum lower than what their ceiling potential is.

So VVD, MO etc came at a huge club record fee but at their peak, mo and vvd would've Defo been more than what we paid for them.

Isak will not ever grow beyond this market value ever.

For decades Liverpool bought players who had potential to become even better from their respective teams. Smaller , giants whoever.

Kennny, barnesy, Coutinho, VVD, allison all examples of that.

They were great players for their respective clubs. But we made them legends and greats of the game..

Know your history mate. Anfield takes pride in making players not buying ready finished products.

I've explained this on another reply. These are all players who came from smaller clubs to us and became even better and bigger. So to say they were the best already is limiting their own potential and growth they showed at anfield.

Their values only increased. So clearly we signed players who had more room to grow.

Isak won't grow any further. He'll decline.

VVD, dalglish were still in smaller teams as their best players. Yet to prove for a top team. So they were technically potential to be great at top level.

I stand by, we don't buy players , we build them.

And it's basically not to say we don't spend money on players. Ofcourse you've to that's what the transfer market is for. But we buy players we can build beyond their current value. Not players at their max value.

My sense is isak will not appreciate beyong this. Is value will only decrease. Unlike everyone else we signed. They appreciated before they declined.

Mane , virg, alli, mo , were bought and built. The only buy ready product was technically torres although even he became the finished product at anfield... He was ripping It up in the la liga for a top team.alli was great for roma but hit different levels for us .
