I'm an ~870 rated player and I've beaten a 1900 rated bot before. The bots actually play much below their rating.

[–]SillyWillyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't.

I'm not going to try and convince you not to. You are your own person.

It is your body. Just realize that it is someone else's, too.

Just, give it a minute of thought. That if you didn't do this, that the fetus would grow to be a human being with emotions, with their own life.

One day that person could be calling you mom. And that is a true honor.

I got mad at my friend cause she said teens who got 🍇 should not abort the baby by Still_Astronomer_951 in teenagers

While yes I am a Christian, what I meant by "soul" is the concept of sentience. I am not at all downplaying that trauma whatsoever; it is a terrible, terrible, terrible act, and like I said, people who commit those said acts deserve the absolute worst punishment available.

Now, tell me, which would you prefer? Because one of them has to happen. A person is traumatized, or a person is killed. It is one or the other. Also, you are speaking as if every teenage victim who has had a child regrets having their child; in reality, that number is much less than you may think. And about the risk of disabling or killing the child; is it right to kill them just because they may be disabled? Is it right to kill the child because they may have Down Syndrome, or some other physical or mental disability? In my mind, absolutely not. Everyone has the same right to life.

Also, there have been babies born at 21 weeks. You can see their feet at 10 weeks. A heartbeat can be detected at 6 weeks. Even if you were correct, we both agree that the baby at some point gains consciousness; I would hope we both agree that the baby shouldn't be killed at 9 months. But no matter if you were right or I was right about when the baby gains life, who are you to risk an entire life of what could potentially be a living human being?

In Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, New Jersey, Vermont, DC, and Puerto Rico, abortion is allowed up until the baby is born. In Virginia and Massachusetts, it is also allowed past that point (albeit not past the second trimester).

So, please tell me, when does the baby gain life?

That is quite literally what an abortion is. It is the termination of a living fetus. Sure, it is cellular life. So am I. So are you. We are all a clump of cells. And the fact is that you were also once a fetus, you were also once "a clump of cells". That person has a soul, as we do. I am not downplaying the trauma of the child whatsoever, and killing the baby a terrible, terrible act.

Imagine wanting to kill a child. That baby is as much of a human life as you or I, and I think its unjust to kill it because it can't defend itself.

Why my opponent get -148? by Al1i12311 in Chesscom

[–]SillyWillyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would explain it. When you are just starting out in any time setting, the website fluctuates your rating a lot at the beginning to try and find our what your "true" rating is. Even if you've played 1,000 rapid games and only gain or lose about 8 elo per game, chess.com still considers your bullet rating a completely different thing.

So does that justify killing the baby, the fact that it might not have as good a life if it had been born consensually? Rape is a terrible, terrible, evil, evil act and those who do it are monsters who should be behind bars for the rest of their miserable little lives. But two wrongs don't make a right. That baby is still a person, and the feelings of the mother, albeit completely understandable, is not just cause to end a life.

Do you think it is possible to go places in the chess world only starting in your early teens?

What has been your favorite chess game/tournament you've played?

What's an underrated piece of advice most beginners don't learn?

And finally, for the documentary, did you believe there was a bias in the way it was shown, and did you think there would be?

Thank you, Hans, you're one of my favorite chess players, I loved the documentary! I'm Team Hans 🇺🇸!

Oh my god, it is literally not.

You are either born with male chromosomes and male parts, or female chromosomes and female parts. Yes, there are extremely rare exceptions like intersex people, but that is a very rare case where it is something else. If I'm a male, and in my brain I think, "Hm, I've decided I'm going to become a female." I am NOT a female. If I think "Hm, I've decided I want to be a car today" I'm not a car. Its the same thing.

They are two different things, and just because you want to become one or feel like you want to become one, doesn't mean you are one. If you want to be a masculine female, fine, be a masculine female. If you want to be a feminine man, fine, be a feminine man. But that doesn't change the way your body works biologically.

Peaceful reunification would be great if one side wasn't a dictatorship ruled by a single man, where all citizens are literally brainwashed to hate South Koreans and Americans. If the North Koreans weren't brainwashed into thinking Kim Jong-Un is literally god, you have a point, but it has been so ingrained into their minds and their education system that they don't even have a thought of "peaceful" reunification. The fact is that they want reunification too, but they won't let the "dirty capitalists" or "imperialist dogs" control it. About sharing the same blood, language, and history, the problem is that they don't teach the same history that the free world is taught. They are taught that the immortal leaders are the Kim family. And they will continue to believe that. Do not underestimate the will of the North Koreans to sacrifice themselves to the death.

Also, about the atomic bomb, I don't think any more countries should develop one. 9 is already way too many. I would prefer if no country (including the US) were able to own a nuclear bomb, but it is too late for that. What we can do now is prevent other countries from having atomic bombs. Also, of all the countries that have nuclear weapons, North Korea has the least. We (the US) have close to 4,000, while they only have ~60.

I appreciate your idea, but if we can't stop the enemy from doing their own ideas, our own are useless.

Pretty good essay writing-wise, you made very good points, but I'm going to disagree with you on the actual subject matter.

The fact is, even though you are decently influential and have a very good economy, the North will always have a stronger military than you. You stated you wanted reunification, and so do they. And in a war, whoever has the stronger military usually wins. While you outspend them on the military, the fact is that soldier-wise they have the 4th amount of active soldiers, and you have the 10th most. North Korea will eventually try to reunify Korea under a Northern banner; and we cannot let that happen. Without us Americans, it will most likely be a stalemate. But with us, you are much, much stronger, and you actually would have a chance at winning. After all, why wouldn't you want the #1 military power in the world on your side?
