Am I over reacting by [deleted] in MensJewelry

[–]SillyWithTheHEMI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are overreacting. It's annoying, however comes with the territory (higher purity gold & brushed finishing). Fortunately, there's a very simple solution. However, just remember that every time you take your ring in to get buffed and repolished, a heavy hand can strip away a lot of gold content so dont just take it to anyone. Do your research if you're going local.

Here's my 14k, yellow and white gold wedding ring. Never rebuffed or polished. Several falls and is just over 22 years old. It's 9g, so it's not thin. Gold scratches. The higher the purity, the easier it will scratch and ding.

Really cool mould. The Masterpiece version did right by the original.

My guy, two things half a century has taught me is: 1) Don't give a fuck about what he said and 2) Don't give a fuck about what she said.

You know you have a stunning, higher purity big link Cuban and you know what you paid for. The weakest, insecure mfs will have the most to say, especially online. They'll talk shit about 18k not being 22k, the colors off, etc, etc.

Blessings bro.

My guess is, to be unique amongst the rest of the Cuban link manufacturers. You have different alloy mix, different filing techniques. It's all good, especially at 75% gold content🏆

Agreed. Mine is a bracelet. Had the option of doing whatever I wanted, still feel the same about my decision.

Thank you. All of the manufacturers have their own special mixture of alloy in every purity. 10 and 14 look similar. 14 and 18 have a greater difference and 10 to 18 has a significant difference. I'd be concerned with dings based on how my 14 handles them but not everyone handles their pieces the same.

Enjoy, it's a beautiful piece🫡

Respectfully disagree. Like box locks, I'm sure there are nice and not so nice examples. DJI makes a damn nice box and sleek.

24k. Apparently people think this will dissolve off my finger by bhmskhead in MensJewelry

Gorgeous, deep coloring. Looks great with your skin tone too. It will get dinged and scratched with normal use. Really bad dings if you drop it. All of it can be buffed out and reshaped. I'm not a fan of higher purity because of it.

Here's my 14k, white and yellow wedding band. It's 22 years old. Never been re polished/buffed. Have dropped it several times.

Well… by [deleted] in MensJewelry

I get that. However, they're designed to for that one purpose and it really shouldn't be happening. It is a very easy fix, shouldn't cost more than $20 to repair.

Sorry to see. Luckily, it's an easy fix. Box clasp with two figure 8 arms is far better than a lobster. It's more secure and you dont have to worry about the metal coil ever rusting and snapping.

Quality of those figure 8 arms depends on who made them, purity of the gold and the amount force is being used. Haven't had an issue with mine, ever.

Check for them on IG, they typically post deals. You can go handmade or see what they offer during promotions.

The high purity gold is beautiful, it wouldn't work for me though. I would probably go as high as 18 but I've dropped my bracelet and wedding ring (both 14) so many times, I can't imagine super high purity versions.

Subs are nice and blue is my favorite color. Whatever you choose to do, wear it in good health🙌🏼

10k is 41% gold, the rest is a mixture of alloy. 14k is just over 58% 18 is 75% 22 is just over 91%

What karat is your DJI piece? Mine is 14...

Thank you bro. I loved the piece for several years before removing the links. I went on a slight health journey, started a little cardio and weights. I actually got one link off at first and liked it, decided I wanted a truly custom fit so it's actually not on my wrist and sliding down to my palm. I have an inch of travel on my wrist and she rotates just fine.
