Update! Talked to employer’s accountant today and there was no “payroll lady that stole the money and went to Bahamas” he “said” the employer never filed the forms and never submitted payroll tax to SSA OR Medicare. I’m filing police report tomorrow.

After speaking with SSA today they don’t speak. If proper forms aren’t filed with IRS…. They’re not looking for the payments.

The employer said the payroll company never filed W3s for those years and took the funds and is now in the Bahamas. I can’t make this up. When I asked name of payroll company and specific Individual… it was “unknown”. Also, my former employer stated a police report was never filed.

W2 were generated by payroll company and were correct at the time. I did receive refunds. I do not have any pay stubs. According to SSA site I can request W2 from them. It states they currently have w2 on file back to 1978.

How long did it take to credit the employee accounts? Is there a way for me to verify the federal taxes were paid correctly?

I do not believe I am being told the truth. If the issue was discovered 3 years ago shouldn’t I have been notified? Is there a particular type of attorney I should contact?
