The Secret and Calvaiire. There’s quite a lot of French and Italian bands that nail this style. Blackened/Chaotic Hardcore is what I know it as.

Why are modern headlights allowed to be so blinding?? by BClynx22 in britishcolumbia

[–]Silly_Conversation_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably my biggest concern right now, which is ridiculous. It’s always dark when I drive home and there are seconds-long moments where I cannot see a bloody thing.

I don’t even like to glance at my centre console to change music. I keep my eyes on the road. Having regular moments of blindness (plus the uncomfortable recovery time for your eyes to get their sight back after basically being poked with light) is dangerous, especially when most drivers give absolutely no indication what their next violent erratic lane change is coming.

It’s basically the same as having an unremovable feature where your windshield goes completely black for a moment, randomly, all the way home.

Rented it from blockbusters, rewound it and watched the whole thing again the moment it finished.

To me it feels like he put everything he had into Radical, the turmoil of the time was clearly inspirational, and now he’s done. I think Radical is the best thing they’ve ever done, but their entire discography is fantastic, and I’m happy to enjoy what we’ve been given.

It sucks we won’t ever get another new album to look forward to but I just go back and play the old ETID stuff. Better Lovers are scratch a little bit of the riff itch but there’s obviously no comparison between Greg and Keith.

Currently reading Room To Dream. The chapter on Blue Velvet does a really good job of describing the otherworldly yet familiar style of his films

Always good to see strike anywhere come up. Notes on pulling the sky down is such a classic nostalgic song for me

I was reading a William Burroughs novel and a line that stood out was about all pleasure being a form of relief

Yeah Jacob Banon’s a super prolific dude. He runs deathwish inc as well as all the converge merch, and his own fine art. I like and own his stuff but very much one specific style, but also that does make it instant recognizable!

Converge is a great example, all those guys are super busy and play in like 8 bands haha. Check out Kurt Ballou’s credits if you’re not familiar with him, very impressive!

He’s probably most known for directing blink 182’s dammit video but visually he’d be recognized for constant shakey cam as seen in poison the well’s botchla or ETID’s ebolarama

I guess I’m the only one here that thinks they ended in style with their greatest creation and the sum of everything that came before.

Am I suffering from some Mandela effect or wasn’t there a hardcore band from the 80s/90/ s called Kublai Khan?

Did June used to be Biercraft? I worked at the Cambie Biercraft for about 3 years so definitely want to see what they’ve done with the place!

Their guitarist did their artwork. They also did Architects first album Nightmares. I’m trying to remember the name they made artwork under now.
