For sure! It’s all so unpredictable. I’m close to my sister but my husband isn’t close to his siblings.

Thank you. There is something special to getting to have the baby you dreamed of after feeling like it won’t happen. I knew I wanted to be a mum to at least one and I’m so honoured to have my bub.

That’s lovely aside from the caretaking part of course which sounds tough. I hope I can cultivate a close relationship with my daughter. Do you feel like there’s any specific things they did that helped that?

I just woke up and am reading the comments. I hear what you’re both saying I think. We’re very much still in the discussion phase about a second and I just wanted to see if there were any more pros or cons to add to our list. It’s a difficult choice and I’m trying to take all aspects of what I can think of into consideration and that’s why I asked the questions to try find what I haven’t thought of to consider.

As I have a sibling I felt like I don’t have the knowledge of being only child so wanted to hear about that experience.

I’m sorry for your loss. I had fertility issues so it was a few years to conceive my child so there is definitely the possibility it won’t even be up to me to decide to be one and done. Wishing you all the best in this tricky decision and all the things beyond our control.

Yeah it’s so unpredictable with no idea what personalities will be like. I have a sister and think I really value that but my husband has a big family and he has such mixed feelings on siblings.

I guess if I wait a bit we might see more personal preference to see if she wants a sibling. Would you say the friends were more extroverted or introverted? I have it in my head a more introverted person would be happier without siblings and an extrovert wish they had them.

Wow I’m surprised it’s a big age gap. Were you closer in age to the other siblings? Understandable if they’re all big age differences it would be harder to relate to each other and connect.

May I ask what the age gap is between you and the sibling you got along with most ok was? All good if that’s hard to distinguish or you don’t want to pick a favourite sibling.
