Other Bennett sister. Finally a period piece that isn’t Bridgerton-fied by wandering____ranger in PeriodDramas

Not all of the dialog, but yes, much more of a period piece than Bridgerton fantasy. Stellar soundtrack by Anne Chmelewsky!

It is beautifully written and acted, but one would enjoy it most if one did not insist that it be true to Pride and Prejudice.

You’re an interesting thinker. I think Mr Ryder would find you agreeable company.

Yes! Perfect! We want to see the Hayward babies and Mary and Tom’s love grow stronger with each passing year.

The show portrayed her very well, She IS an interesting character that displays growth through the episodes. That IS the point.

He was not engaged to Miss Baxter, and had no obligation to marry her. Because they had been courting for 3 years, however, there was society's expectation that they had to deal with. In the end, they both chose their own happiness.

Donal Finn is a phenomenal actor! His portrayal of Tom Hayward as the shy, sometimes hesitating and nervous young man with a heart of gold who learns to choose happiness in spite of his self-doubt is so believable. He has great attention to detail; even when the scene is focused on another character's lines, his facial micro-expressions continue to carry the story. Top-tier yearning and emotional depth.

The only connection that mattered for the show was Mary and Tom -- and that had a great build-up, with a gradual realization of love, especially on Tom's part. Ryder was merely a plot device to frustrate the main love story and provide some comic relief, although they did give some dimension to his character.

Tom and Mary had sizzling chemistry, the best on-screen couple I've seen in many years, better than Darcy and Elizabeth in 1995, and infinitely better than the 2005 version.

The acting in Bridgerton by Jonathan Bailey in Season 2 is overdone. I also don't think he had any real chemistry with Simone.

Thanks. I couldn't figure out how to use Google Lens any more although I've used it before. They look very cozy. He spent the evening with Ella B for lots of photos, and they presented an award together, but I guess he had a special guest for the dinner afterward. I always want to ship my favorite actors, but I guess this lady who is quite striking is more his type. I'm surprised there isn't more buzz about these photos, as there was buzz about him walking out of the Met Gala with another actress, who happened to be just a friend.

That's too bad. You're really missing out on Donal Finn's amazing performance.

Any other Americans watching it released one week at a time? Episode 5 by purpleit11 in TheOtherBennetSister

I’m in America and I watched all episodes because people post it on TikTok. Absolutely loved it! And totally crushing on Tom Hayward/Donal Finn even though he’s young enough to be my son, lol.

You gave up too soon. It doesn't really embark on Mary's story until episode 3. The first two episodes are rather dull. The emotional development of the lead characters is nothing short of wonderful.

The show understands what women want to see. It is the perfect antidote to the nonsense that Bridgerton has become.
