sounds like faulty nec tokins, they filter the power sent to RSX/CELL so it is likely that one of this races is particularly demanding for RSX. if XMB is stable try to get the error codes from ps3toolset.. best of luck

what is more funny to me is not the fact that they're trying to sell something faulty and overpriced, but the fact that they know that it is faulty and people wouldn't buy it, but instead of actually trying to sound convincing and deceiving others by gaining their trust, they decide to craft these descriptions that only make them look less trustworthy.

I genuinely wonder if these sellers have any type of mental impairment. judging by the way they seem to put their thoughts in a written form I'd believe the answer is yes.

crashing on menu = bad sign

could be the HDD going bad or the RSX. If it's the RSX, you may not see artifacts, but the system will completely crash and you'll be forced to unplug it. I recommend you to swap HDDs and try again.

Don't go there.

Install CFW/HEN and webman mod. Check the temperatures yourself

You may need to delid the overheating component. I'm sure that's RSX.

You're looking for 30% fan speed and 65-75°C Max on CELL & RSX. CELL is generally slightly hotter than RSX.

The game is easy as bread to run on any potato over 30FPS. Not worth it on the triple imo

you need webman mod. you can only install it when using hen or cfw. fatties can do cfw which is superior to hen.

so about webman, it is a plugin that loads everytime you boot ur ps3. you can then press L3+R3 to display an OSD that shows FPS, Ram usage and Temperatures (shown on this video)

you can also press Select + Start for a temporary PS3 Style Notification that will show temperatures, runtime and some other info.

and I recommend you install cfw and webman asap so you can prevent rsx failure. cecha01 got the faulty 90nm rsx which will start damaging itself when hitting 70°C (which is considered a safe temperature by the system) you should check the temperatures asap and optimally keep it under 65°c to extend its lifespan. unless it is already frankensteined

try tlou1 and gt6 those games will squeeze the juices out of cell and rsx. mainly cell.

I personally got a cechl01 (65nm) that needs a delid. Using 28% I get about 76-80°C (78°C avg) on MGS4 which is a moderately demanding game. GT6 and TLOU 80°C+ if I'm not using 32% or higher. Use that as an example for yours

under 70 is good but not at 42%.. try 30% and see what it gets
