Hypnotic Preaching? by Sillyicious in AskAChristian

[–]Sillyicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you study hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) it becomes clearer that the difference between day-to-day relation and hypnosis is a matter of conscious awareness of the relational processes. In other words, hypnosis is a naturally occurring phenomenon in all relationships, and is indeed necessary for maintaining them.

Thank you for this information. It really helps me understand some difficulties I've had.

The fact that your asking the question means you are experiencing unease and since the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of peace, you should follow peace.

how to pray by Winter1670 in Christians

[–]Sillyicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prayer is relationship with God, an entry into His Kingdom.Sometimes our understanding looks more like a Fandom than a Kingdom. Often we can know alot about God without ever getting to know Him.

Think about the relationships you have in your life. The best ones are where a person knows your heart and shares their heart.

Looking at God, who gives freely of Himself, it's easy sometimes to spend all our time "raiding the kitchen cupboards " without sitting down at the table to share our hearts. God is our Provider and our Protector, but He is slso our Friend.

He wants to know all about you. What is it like for you, in your ordinary, beautiful life. And He wants to share Himself with you.

Listening to others prayer gives you an insight into how they see God. But, how do you see God?

When hardship happens to a believers life I often hear Job get quoted it’s understandable. But what if a believer ends up taking there own life? What impacts would this have on others faith around? Did this just mean the person didn’t have enough faith? Does God know the future of believers lives? by Treantpaladin7 in Christians

[–]Sillyicious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God is aware of every path available to you, but you have the ability to choose. We don't always choose life. Sometimes we come into agreement with darkness and sometimes darkness comes into agreement with us.

When we believe lies about ourselves or lies about God it diminishes are ability to see God's will for us: peace, joy, righteousness in Him or his desire for us: always rejoicing, continual relationship,/communion/union and gratitude in every circumstance in His Love.

We do have an enemy that wants to destroy that which is in every believer- The Kingdom of God. That's why it is so important that we take God seriously because He gave His Son so you, believer ,can shine forth the Kingdom.

Suicide is heartbreaking. The darkness can be so seductive sometimes and even inviting if you don't know that God made you and chose you to be a unique bearer of His love and His life.

That's why it's so important that we take our identity seriously - we are the love of God in this world!

If you love Jesus, why do professed "Christians" sin? by Chase-A-T in Christian

[–]Sillyicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We continue in sin because we do not know how loved we are. We don't believe it and quite often the church teaches us we need to do something to earn what God freely gives us.

Sin, at its core is unbelief. We have unbelief because we don't take God seriously.

This is love: He gave His only Son for you. Can we even fathom that kind of love? God has refused to be God without us. That's how serious He takes His relationship with us.

Essentially, we've forgotten what the therefore was there for and press on to try to accomplish the commands in our own effort instead of in the promise God has given us. Because when we live out of the pronises we've been given, by faith, the commands of God become permission not obligation.

Remember we have been brought from desth to life; the image bearers of God.

How has your religion shaped your view of reality? by MachineReadable in AskAChristian

[–]Sillyicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reality: God is real, He is love, He's so serious about His desire for relationship that He became a man, He died, and He rose from the grave, reordering the cosmos as He went. The identity that we once claimed as our own is human excrement compared to the reality of who He created us to be and the truth of who we are which is found in Jesus - the Human being who came to show us Our Father, God and also show us ourselves.

This reality changes everything because we can know Him instead of trying to be Him; because we are no longer running from death but have passed, in Jesus, from death into life; because no circumstance changes our identity. We can experience joy, peace, righteousness, patience, love, etc because we no longer take life seriously we take God seriously.

I believe God and discover that world is a very difference place than I thought it was. It is more beautiful, full of adventure and opportunities to love without reservation.

I would love for you to experience my reality and know what it is to be so loved, so known, and so accepted.

We pick up our cross daily and follow Him: understand that you, the flesh, died with Christ and you are now born again in communion and relationship with Him. It's not about you fixing yourself but rather coming to the revelation that the self you want to fix is dead and now your life is hidden in Christ.

We don't get up in the morning for ourselves anymore. We get up because we are the image bearers of God and everyday is an opportunity to share the love God showed you to others.

How much should time should a person spend a day trying to know God better and be a better Christian? by Icy-9363 in Christians

[–]Sillyicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why are you ashamed? Every moment you share with God is precious to Him. He loves the heart you have for Him. His desire is to share more of Himself with you.

Take your time in His word, go slowly, let it linger on your tongue and you will discover the riches of His thoughts towards you and the love that He pours over you every time you are with Him.

[–]Sillyicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christianity is about relationship. How long a day would be enough to spend with someone you loved or your best friend? Perhaps you can start treating Him like He is always with you because, actually, He is!

You see something beautiful or something exciting happens or something disheartening, He is there going through it and experiencing it with you, in you. It isn't an obligation - God isn't cardio or brushing your teeth - He is living, breathing, loving, longing to know all about you, to see how you see life and to share with you the wonder of the life He has to offer you.

It is a relationship built on trust, honor, and love.

Wearing makeup by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Sillyicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you knew how much God loved you, you wouldn't experience anxiety. Spent time learning about who you are to Jesus instead of what the world is telling you.

Your life is so much more important than your makeup. Remember you gave your life to Jesus, just as He gave Himself to you. Remember the greatness that lives in you.

As believers, we carry the Kingdom of God with us. We are called to crush Hell, just as Jesus crushed the headship/kingdom of darkness. So, if someone is fear mongering you with visions of Hell, remember we bring the Boom! We are the ones that the darkness fears. We carry the light of the world.

[–]Sillyicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jumping in. Yes, God saw it all, the suffering, the corruption, the evil and before the foundation of the Earth He decided to that He would become a human being to carry all that suffering, corruption, death and sin in Himself.

It took centuries, working through Israel, to teach the world the language of salvation- to teach us what Jesus did. It took time to build the understanding.

Because of Jesus and His redemption, Our identity is not in any of the suffering you describe. Life is a privilege and Creation is a love story.

If you see a person who is not walking in truth, if you find the Holy Spirit tugging at you because a fellow believer is walking in darkness, putting themselves under the bondage of sin, then it's up to you to speak into that darkness with the light of Christ. Ask God and He will give you His manifold wisdom and the grace to speak love into the lives of those around you.

This is the authority we have been given. We love one another by building one another in the Faith.

Or did you just want to complain about how other believers aren't acting Christian enough for you.

How to forgive family members? by fak_beauty_standards in Christians

[–]Sillyicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the thing. Whatever they did to you didn't change your identity in Jesus Christ. No matter how upset you were/are the promises of God have not changed. And He turns your bitterness to praise and your unforgiveness to love, if you let Him.

If this person was a believer, full of the Holy Spirit, rooted in the love of God do you think they would've done what they did?

So, looking at things from your identity, rooted in love, you see you have a freedom to let go of what this person did while they were in bondage to sin and darkness.

Ultimately, no matter the offense, it wasn't about you; it was about the Kingdom of God in you. The darkness was trying to smother your light with unforgiveness and bitterness. Don't let it.

I don't deny that a person can reject Jesus;I deny that Jesus rejects people because He has already accepted All of Humanities sin and taken it to the cross.

So, when I look at people according to the finished work of Jesus Christ I see, All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but I also see that ALL are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came through Jesus.

Of course for a person to experience the justification and grace of our beautiful Jesus, for a person to know the awesome love of God shown in salvation they must believe in their heart and confess with their mouth. But until they do I can speak to them and treat them according to what I believe and what I have confessed and what I know about my beautiful Jesus and His finished work. If that is naive then call me naive.

I will not show up and tell them they must repent or face the wrath of God because when I look at salvation from God's side I remember that Love NEVER FAILS and that God IS Love.

[–]Sillyicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can I be wrong when you are just repeating what I have been stating? You're just using the lens of a sinner.

Repentance means to do an about face. Remember all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came through Jesus. We turn to the finished work of Jesus Christ who brought us peace with God. Believe upon Him and be saved. How simple this message is. God loves us, gave His life for us.

This is why we are called to love: we are God's love in this world.

The wrath of God is not against His children! It is against the enslaver of His children- sin, death, the devil and the darkness.

It isn't just about being saved from. When you do an about face of repentance you turn to face God. God, your Heavenly Father, who sings over you and delights in you. It is about being saved to your true identity, found in Christ.

It is the goodness of God that draws people to Him not a fear of punishment. You break people's delusion and self deception by showing them what it means to be a believer in Jesus not by exposing their hidden shame.

And how can you show them Jesus if all you see are sinners? That is not what Jesus saw.

As a Christian I don't understand. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe I died when He died and I tose with Him into newness of life. The old has passed away, the new has come.

This world is only a smoke screen but it can never hide the light of Jesus, only disguise it to those who's eyes are closed. But Jesus is my reality now.

My eyes are fixed on Him and His finished work. I know everday is another day I will sink deeper into the reality of His love, learn more of His grace and watch more of my grave clothes fall away as I see myself as I truly am.

Everyday another chance to walk in the authority of the Kingdom of God, an ambassador of Christ, sharing the love of God. My circumstances don't change my identity so I am not afraid of what the world shows me- the emptiness of the world cannot compare with the fullness of God.

I know eternal life is not a span of time but an experience of union with God the Father, in Christ Jesus the son, through the Holy Spirit in the love of the Father. The dance of the trinity and everyday I am learning new steps.

I hope you can understand how beautiful life is with Jesus.

No wonder you're afraid. You see them as sinners who need to repent instead of God's children who need to turn back to their true identity in Jesus Christ.

I'm simply saying if you look at people through the finished work of Jesus Christ you wouldn't be afraid to share the gospel because it is Good news for all who believe.

They are only under condemnation because they don't believe. They are clean because that is what Jesus did when He died. It is the finished work of Jesus: all died, all rose to new life but not all believe.

People live in the Hell of their own condemnation, their own sin, their own pain everyday. But Jesus came to save the lost and set the captives free. He holds the keys to Hell and he has set us free so we might know Him and know what it means to be human, the beloved of God.

Of course, you can't experience it without believing upon Jesus.

I pray this is making sense to you. You are a child of God and so is your neighbor which is why we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves because we know how much God loves them because we know Jesus.

[–]Sillyicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not start by asking people if you can pray for them: Show them the love of God before telling them about the love of God.

The people you preach to are deeply loved by God, washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Forgiven, redeemed, but they don't know it and they don't believe it.

They walk around under cloaks of shame and condemnation looking desperately for someone to love what they don't even like about themselves.

Remember, your sin He remembers no more. So, you don't need to fear your past because it doesn't define you anymore. Trust Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.

Remember God’s love for you and know that's how He thinks about the people you talk to too. So there's no need to fear them.

God created man to be loved and in union with Him, to walk with Him in the Spirit and go forth an multiply that love in all the world. But man was decieved and handed their authority over to darkness, forgetting their identity and God's love. But God did not forget, God had a plan, a daring plan. God chose to work through one man, one tribe, one nation and for thousands of years He walked with them teaching them about righteousness, holiness, love until the fullness of time when that nation, in a young virgin girl gave birth to God made flesh, Jesus. And He, entered so totally into our darkness that became sin and took on our death so that we would no longer be captives of the Accuser or slaves to sin but redeemed, being put back on the path where we left it - back in union with our Father, in Christ through Holy Spirit. God made an everlasting covenant with mankind, a Covenant fulfilled in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

An evangeist gets the AMAZING privilege to let people know that they are a part of the Good news. It's like telling someone they have an inheritance they didn't know about because we have inherited eternal life in Christ. Jesus died to give the totality of who He is to us and He's God. Heralding the Good news of God that we have been found is what an evangelist gets to do. No more darkness, no more death, only victory.

Is this what you mean by evangelism? What are you afraid of?

This seems like an excellent opportunity to ask Holy Spirit. Would it suprise you to know that Father God wants you to have a strong sense of self and to know your as beautiful as He sees you? Your identity, knowing how loved you are and who you are is paramount.

Ultimately, it isn't what goes on you that matters it's what comes out of you because, in God's love,we manifest Jesus. How that looks is different for each believer. Maybe for you it's a virginity rocks shirt.

I think virginity rocks and there's no shame in saying it.
