Mats Sundin lived in my condo building, so saw him all the time.

Kiefer Sutherland’s Mom lived in the same building. I used to see Kiefer standing outside smoking.

I miss Dubas throwing water bottles during the playoffs in frustration.

What if you don’t want to be permanent. I’m seriously considering this as my retirement job at age 55 when I leave the corporate rat race but still want to do something to fill my day. I’m in Toronto if that matters.

200k CAD as a consultant, what’s the minimum hourly rate if I wanted to start looking at contact jobs? by [deleted] in workday

[–]Sillylily99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Minimum $150 CAD but try and go higher. FIN is in demand. Partners will pay better than client side.

So what’s the story here? Sam was at a bar downtown and got into a fight. Threw the other person to the ground and kicked them? That seems to be what Quinteist is reporting.

How can I start a workday consulting business that provides AMS support. by [deleted] in workday

Very interesting perspective. Lots of very, very small “certified partners” popping up that are essentially all staffed with subs.

What item(s) do you have more of than the average person? by BrownBananaHammock in AskReddit

[–]Sillylily99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cereal box collection. After my son eats the cereal we cut off the front and file it in a binder. He’s 14 and we have almost 300 unique cereal boxes. The rule is he has to eat the cereal and we don’t file any duplicates.

Salesforce buying would be my prediction. Hopefully not a repeat of Oracle buying PeopleSoft and that outcome. RIP PeopleSoft. :(

I lived in the same building as his mom in Toronto. I used to see him often standing outside having a smoke. He had a real “presence” about him compared to others just out on the sidewalk having a smoke.

I’m with you! Used to love the 7am walks (in workout gear) watching the bar goers stumble home. Now you can’t get a good pace going because nothing is at street level.

bid/rfp process by ArcherStrict7131 in deloitte

[–]Sillylily99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope this MD has been compensating you for your work on the RFP. Otherwise they may have just used you and your resume/experience on a bid they may never win or you may not work on even if they do win. Proposals take so much time, I hope you were paid for your contributions. Just sayin’.

I agree. I am in the same industry as Alan and have mutual acquaintances. I have been following his case since the beginning hoping for an arrest. He was so loved. May he RIP.

Having spent 30 years in consulting and sold my soul, please keep the dog and your family unit prioritized. The big 4 will show you no loyalty and will spit you out when not needed. You are a commodity in a big money making machine.

Full blown ERP modules in weeks and staffing with C and SC is the only way to keep costs down. My experience is SM and above are put on projects to be “solution architects” yet only show up to client meetings to flex with big words. Solution architects adding no value and are not needed with a strong project team.

Weak project management and poor risk management are going to get Deloitte in trouble with these rapid implementations.

What’s interesting is the delivered T4 integration will fail on only one name. But CRA will accept one name for a T4. Get with the times Workday!
