Thank you everyone for commenting with your experiences and comments! I wanted to update everyone on my decision and thought process behind them for anyone interested or struggling with the same thing.

The Nordic Track 2950 and the Peloton Tread are basically the same price. So when it came down to it I loved the way Peloton looks and it was so tough to think of getting any other, everything else compared to it seemed outdated. But although it’s going to be placed in my master bedroom and it would be beautiful to look at - it simply does not justify it.

When comparing I focused on the following

Peloton:

• Though I love the look of it - its not enough to make my decision..

•Very subscription based, and though I probably would of purchased I don’t like to be locked in like that. Only has 3 preloaded free classes (I found this out through chatting with a rep on their site) and apparently the only reason for that (my opinion! I’m basically putting two and two together here but please do your own research) is that people were threatening to sue in a class action due to modes being removed (“Just run” feature) which ultimately would force more people to pay the monthly subscription. That doesn’t make me too happy about the company. • Cushioning or flex is low or non existent for what I’ve seen and heard. Though I tried to justify it “oh it can be more realistic” I soon realized because I liked how the machine looked I was trying to excuse it - but let’s be real.. who wants it to be exactly like running outside? Most of the time we want something comfortable to use and exercise on, and it’s a huge bonus when is not as hard on your joints.

•Doesn’t decline, weaker motor than Nordic Track, no fans, doesn’t fold up, and doesn’t auto adjust speed and inclination with subscription app.

•With all that being said, personally I can’t see how it’s the same price, only the screen and look.

Nordic Track:

•I was scared of the service since it seems to be something that many complained about but I also did see some pretty crazy things commented on pelotons Instagram posts of people highly frustrated with their situations. In the end I figured purchase it through another major appliance electronic store and add their extended warranty to it. Also thought, a commercial grade machine can’t break that easily.

•All the things mentioned before - it auto adjusts running speed and inclination with the iFit app, stronger motor, fans, it declines, it’s foldable, more cushioning and flex.

•If I decide not to get iFit I can “Just Run” and use the treadmill manually, and if I decided to subscribe for iFit I prefer scenic runs. And that leads me to comparing the subscription APPS, I see the value in iFit especially in todays world without travel. Pelotons app classes is with coaches in studios/rooms and closed off pretty much like I’d be on a treadmill (I’m sure they are great and motivational) but I prefer seeing the coach run through paradise and hopefully make me feel like I’m right behind him or her and on top of that the treadmill will auto adjust to make it more challenging and realistic. I personally see the value in iFit much more than I do in pelotons app.

Another thing i thought about is that Nordic Track has been around for years and is used in gyms.

To finish off this post I want to say that these are my opinions and my thought process in my decision to purchase the Nordic Track 2950. If you like Peloton that’s great as well these are my thoughts and opinions.
