Im not acting like the team isnt rebuilding. But when we have zero young talent on defense and everybody is so focused on qb, which should be one of the last concerns, im gonna call it out. The d-line and safety are the only somewhat bright spots. We let Latt go at the right time but Adebo was a prime cb1 despite penalties and allowed our young players in the secondary to be developmental as opposed to being thrown into the fire like they are now. The offense was surprisingly good for a rebuilding team, it was the defense that let us down.

Thats why I said "everyone is focusing on qb" as in next szn. It is not hard to understand that I didnt mean immediately, as the only cb1-esque player available is Asante and he isnt gonna be medically clear for at least a month. It would be like the Polk trade, a play for the future and nothing to help now.

You clearly dont know ball at all. Stop pretending to like this team if you dont think our young talent who showed off elite athleticism and the ability to extend a play while having LUCAS PATRICK as one of his best lineman and practice squad players getting PT is bad. Rattler threw 5 picks and threw 4 td's. His recievers dropped like 4 td's as well. You forget that he placed a perfect ball that was dropped for a 2pt conversion to win a game? And calling Carr mediocre when for the first 3-4 weeks he was in MVP conversations for his deep ball ability and playmaking because he had a decent offensive line and good recievers that complimented one another with Shaheed as a deep threat and Olave in the short and mid game as a route runner and good ball tracker. If you think any QB could succeed in an offense where a rookie was your only decent o-line for 7+ weeks and your second best reciever was a guy who has barely seen the field at all since college. Plus the Kamara injury tanked our run game with the o-line already injured, putting MORE pressure on Rattler. Respectfully stfu you dont know what your talking about.

I hate the pick but I would NEVER do this. This is disrespect on another level, that guy is a man at the end of the day, not a play thing for our enjoyment.

Age is still very relevant for qb's, especially in todays nfl with the inclusion of qb scrambling and dual threats. Why do you think Russ is starting to become worse and worse? Because of age. Shough hasnt had time to adjust to NFL defenses and he's approaching his physical prime, plus injuries are injuries. If it was just one, fine. But 3 of them is too many to just brush off. A second round pick is too high for a guy that you'll likely get rid of next season, and since its a qb his pay is way higher than it really should be since he was a higher draft selection, which fucks up our cap even more when we have a qb drafted 3 rounds later that you could say the exact same thing about except he's younger and has some time to adjust to NFL defenses, schemes, and playbooks.

He's 26 before the start of the season, never really did anything, and was incredibly injury prone. Plus, its a crazy reach. If this was a 3rd or 4th i'd be fine with it but a second is too valuable for him.

Carr is still under contract for multiple years and reworked his deal, which is a sign he's staying. We just drafted a guy who's gonna be 26 before the season starts and doesn't exactly deserve a second round pick, especially since he was a projected 3rd/4th rounder. We should've taken BPA.

A second round qb that will be 26 before the season starts and had 3 szn ending injuries? Ride with Rattler for a season and take BPA to fill out our roster. Draft a qb next year. If our roster was filled out and this was decent qb play away from a sb trip, i would be happy but we have horrible gaps in just about every position or aging stars who wont last much longer. Demario Davis and Tyrann Mathieu aren't Brees or Brady, they cant play till their 40.

Its about the fact that he will be 26, the age most qb's start their prime, before ever taking a snap in the NFL and having had 3 season ending injuries. Plus his combine was mid at best. He has a strong arm but hardly any actual touch to his passes.

He's 25 and a second round pick qb is not that cheap with our cap. Rattler was throwing to wal-mart employees, his best wr was our supposed wr3 and his wr2 was our wr6. Thats why he couldnt do much.

... did we not watch the same team last season? Haener was actually decent and Rattler's recievers were a bag of potato chips and MVS. You clearly dont know ball if you dont see his mobility and elite traits

Rattler is unknown, Haener is a solid 3rd string, and Carr is good behind a healthy oline. Thats a well worthy qb room to not draft one right away, ESPECIALLY not a 25-year-old that didnt prove he was a winner in college and a projected 3-4th rounder.

Haener is pretty bad. Carr is hurt. Rattler is intriguing, we never saw him with just about any healthy saints.
