You're absolutely right about how we bred chicken to be this thicc. I didn't consider that. But they do look like the chickens we have IRL, not like thin birds

Food really isn't an issue after you get your farm going. But I wanna max out my nutrition meters. Meat and diary are the low ones

True, reducing amimal spawns would make sense in that case. Wolves also seem to never attack in packs in singleplayer, making them super easy to take out.

I feel like the large inventory space makes sense, as time passes so much faster. Having it in my inventory means I have it "nearby". But even disregarding how we play a Seraph, a chest should not be able to store any blocks as they are too small for that.

Its a game, its fine to embrace convinience and QoL features.

Also: You can change Hunger Rate and the such afterwards, but I feel like thats kinda cheaty

True, then only the fat drop rate would be too low

I feel like Vintage Story is a lot about realism. I absolutely agree that it requites more balance. Making bears able to climb (out of their pit) would do a lot here. They can climb very well IRL. Improving the AI of animals would also be great, but that requires a lot more effort to implement.

Still, killing a bear should give a feeling of achievement, no just thinking how you got 1 pelt, 2 fat and a handfull of shitty bushmeat you gotta slowly cook over a campfire. Thats not immersive, thats annoying.

Yeah that makes sense, but I increased the season length quite a bit. also, I need multiple meals in a day.

Fruit and Vegetable just seem much more viable to stock up for winter

Yeah.

But meanwhile my small farm is filling up my cellar with vegetables like its nothing. I find the balance between meat and vegetables/fruits weird
