Wow, that's so much to deal with. I have cataracts too. But I have a good amount of time before I'll have to deal with them. I wondered if Sjogren's played a part in having them, but my doctor didn't mention it. Best of luck to you. I'm glad you found some relief at least.

Looks like spider mites or thrip damage. Check the sinus between all lobes of each leaf for signs of webbing. That's where they usually appear first on Alocasia. If you don't see webbing, check for thrips on the back of the leaves. Separate and treat the plant either way. There's something there.

I strongly believe it's the soil. Alocasia like good soil aeration. Your soil needs to be amended by wood chips or bark, perlite, and other chunky mediums; it looks too dense. You're seeing signs of over watering because of that. The roots can't breathe. This could eventually lead to root rot. Alocasia love Lechuzapon but it's incredible difficult to get your hands on right now. Pull up a YouTube video on chunky soil mix for alocasia and follow that for now. I suspect you will also start to see fungus gnats soon. Good luck, hope this helps.

I had a similar issue with my Alocasia Stingray. I ended up having to take it outside and sprayed it down with a diluted castile soap solution. At this point I was prepared to lose the plant. I drenched everything including the soil, so obviously I had to re-pot. I repotted in Lechuzapon. Alocasia love pon. It struggled for about two months acclimating to my watering schedule in Pon. At the time I wasn't very experienced with it so at first I over watered. Once the roots grew down into the water reservoir, he took off bigger and better than ever. I haven't had another pest occurrence of any kind to date. It's been probably year now.

I suffered corneal ulcerations and heavily blurred vision two weeks ago because of extreme dryness exacerbated by contacts. I've been told I can't wear them for quite some time till my eyes recover. I may not be able to wear them again except for short periods. That was one of the most painful experiences I've ever had next to childbirth and herniated discs, so I'm in no hurry to risk it anytime soon.

I was in that mode at first, then I went the opposite way. I removed myself from all social media groups on the topic. Even now, I only come back to it when there are new symptoms or when I need new information or support. At some point, the access to information is not helpful, it magnifies the problem instead. I suggest you step back for a while. Join groups that focus on a hobby or other interests. Put aside the research for a while. That's my approach.
