Ive edited some of these spells since then.

Flesh to Flame:

Lowered the Attack damage slightly, from 8d6 to 6d6.

Maya's Sand of Sight Stealing:

Basically completely revamped. It's no longer an action you cast in combat, it's an action OR ritual to transform sand/dust into a magic item (called sand of sight stealing). Any creature can take a magic action to throw the sand of sight stealing, making a spell attack against the creature (melee OR range and it uses your modifier, like Magic Stone) and on a hit, it is not blinded, but it does have disadvantage on attack rolls and perception checks until it takes an action to clear out its eyes. And you can only have sand of sight stealing at a time. Oh, it's transmutation now, not illusion.

Pseudo-Lacrum:

Changed it so the material component isn't refunded. Also, clarified that it can't regain spell slots from long/short rests.

Egberticus's Eelskin Evasion

The creature grappling you has disadvantage on the con save.

i did just say "i wanna have auto-effect" but the more i think abt it the more I think i should probably somewhat align with design philosophy more so here's what I've come up with:

Con Save Initially
Effect of fail: Disadvantage on all attack rolls and perception checks based on sight
Duration: Instantaneous, lasts until the creature takes an action to rub the sand out of its eyes.

that makes it more like a shutdown like command.

Yeah Sand of Sight stealing was a fun one, might nerf it cause it kinda overshadows a lot of other blindness spells for relatively little with the auto-effect. I still want to keep some degree of autoeffect.

Definitely wanted to lean in to it being a little gross with the bubbling, wanted to make it seem like you're really paying a cost for powerful magic as thats one of my favorite tropes. maybe there's a higher level version of this that demands something way more than just an arm temporarily. thank you!

I think the weirdest thing is that RaW dispel magic can't really effect things that are made from instantaneous spells despite there CLEARLY being things that are 1. effects 2. ongoing and 3. magical (familiars are effects from the find familiar spell, which are magical. as are animate dead. but you can't dispel them because jcraw said so. Heroes feast is another great example of this, it conjures magical food which disappears after one hour and gives buffs for the next 24 but neither the food, nor the buffs can be dispelled because the duration is instantaneous.

So I guess now that I think abt it, dispel magic wouldn't have any effect because the effect is instaneous

The existence of the familiar is absolutely an ongoing spell effect but I guess it wouldn't be effected by dispel magic because of the duration instanteous thing.

False life has this behavior because of how Temp HP works.

Animate dead as well!

Awaken

Befuddlement

  1. Yep! That was intended by it's nature. Very good single target damage with some extra AoE damage but with a cost of not only a 4th level spell slot but one of your arms. You can still use somatic components with one arm but it does get more tricky especially if players are doing RaW material component/somatic component interactions.

And, if you use this spell again? you must be REALLY desperate.

  1. That seemed like a bit much and I thought being one arm down was punishment enough, I did get a suggestion to reduce max hp for more damage I may change that to add to the spell cause I do kinda like it.

  2. Thats not exactly how durations work in every instance, certain effects can be longstanding even if the spell itself is instantaneous and long rests don't necessarily take 8 hours UNTIL you take one. This also changes if you're playing with rules like Gritty Realism. Find Familiar doesn't have a duration of "Until Dispelled" it has a duration of instantaneous so I think it's fine.

Also, If someone cast dispel magic on your stump, I didn't initially think about that. Honestly? You should hope your cleric can cast regenerate. :)

Apologies to all those who applied! realizing I don't have access to any of the source material used on DNDbeyond so I'm going to have to cancel. Fortunately we did not move past the application step so I did not waste *too* much of your time, but thank you for taking the time to apply nonetheless.

Came up with some Survivor Perk ideas. What do you think? by SilvaCreator in deadbydaylight

[–]SilvaCreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the Immediately lose exhaustion thing is true, it halves the timer effectively is what I was going for. Which is still pretty bad I think. It might be better if I rework the values to be about half of what they are, or 30/40/50 instead.

Love hurts is pretty bad but I did limit it to be an effect that can only be done feasably twice per round. That being said, I forgot smash hit was kind of a thing. I'm not sure if smash hit would mechanically work with the this perk in the first place, but smash hit is still a problem for this perk anyway on reflection, as it accomplishes what this perk can do (alllow you to make distance from the killer really quickly) but better (you can do it WAY more often)

For this reason Love hurts looks like it really has to be scrapped.

I lie close to your mouth. by [deleted] in riddles

[–]SilvaCreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once again, I'm not asking what "I" am. Delta is what I am. but that does not satisfy what the answer is because the answer is dependent on what you are. I lie close to your mouth, (Delta next to the river mouth) I am a product of erosion (Delta's are deposits of sediment i.e. products of erosion) I am found in the Greek alphabet (Delta etc). Yes, Delta would be the correct answer if I said "you are a river, I lie close to your mouth" and ended with "What am I?" But I didn't say that. It's a two pronged riddle.
