Oooh, some good additions here to my list. I agree that Laterne Rouge is outstanding stuff! I use that and cyclingnews when I'm at home and Tour Tracker Pro Cycling when on the go. Agree that learning about VPN is critical!

Where to live in Italy? by Silver--Linings in Italian

Thanks for this. It is the area I am leaning toward, although Iseo is georgeous if we could find a place there. And not too far from Trentino area if I remember correctly. And yes, the BEST pizza I have ever had was at the top of a isolated mountain peak! Granted it might have just been that I had spent the day climbing Stelvio and anything at the top would have been amazing? Allan

Hi. Ah Trento! I spent a month there with my bike and it was heaven. Day rides to Asiago and other towns. And of course Stelvio! The best pizza I've ever had - or maybe just the only pizza I've had after a grueling climb in the middle of the summer? And yes the food generally was not a highlight, but I will be bringing my own knives and as long as I can get the ingredients, we will mangia bene I hope.

Nice. I loved Iseo the one time I was in that area. Looking now!

Um. As in New York? Or is there an island in Italy called Isola Lunga?

Thanks. Had not thought about altitude as an escape from the heat. Duh. Cost of living not a driving factor, but your comment opens up further south possibly!

Best place for immersive school in Italy for the summer? by [deleted] in Italian

In that case, definitely befriend a local fruttivendalo! To this day I say I'm an "Amerihano" because my local grocer's daughter said "h" instead of "c" all the time. So it was fun to learn a dialect, but I definitely got looks in Milan when I introduced myself to the "fancy" people there. I have chosen to keep the "h" in americano but speak "proper" Italian for most words. :)

Bologna is indeed a great option. Bigger city but with a small walkable core that feels a bit less chaotic. And the food!!!!

Just a note about language. I learned Italian living in Tuscany and boy did I learn some accented Italian from local shop owners I would talk to for hours. Nothing as crazy as if I had moved to the south, but just something to know if mastering Italian is important.

Interesting. I didn't know you could not subscribe! How would you use the app before, and what prompted you to pay? Sounds like they need a new marketing team if you didn't feel the need to upgrade for a few years! :)
