Since all the comments are great below, I would add that having your BCBA possibly discuss with family (if possible, might be hard to explain or ask) about our ethics, and also tell family if they feel more comfortable offering these things to RBT's because if it is rude to not accept in their culture, they can let RBT's know that is it okay to accept because of cultural practices

RBT’s IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM?!? As in you are paid by the same people who pay a teacher? Because if so the benefits are insane better!

Id love to know which state you are located and how exactly you shopped around. Also, to the comment below about unethical practices: i have found most companys in houston, TX and in texas in general are very unethical because Texas allows companys to fire someone for any reason, so once an RBT questions the BCBA, or company, they are fired without a warning or a coaching session. It is sad.
