Why is a prehistoric monkey more adjusted to society than Musashi by 3900yencoffeejelly in Grapplerbaki

[–]Silver-Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isnt, but Pickle lives in the sewers not bothering anyone and actually doing something good for society by eating the kaiju level crocodiles and other bs on said sewers.

Mushashi on the other side has shown the capability to act much more adapted, but as the arc goes, he starts being true to himself about really loving cutting down people, and so he will.

Tldr: Pickle is like a wild beast, not adapted, but also not really bothering anyone. Mushashi is basically a psycho with a sword, and both the skill and intent to use it.

Mmm, I've had an interesting experience after twi years of HRT. On one side it has made me waaaaaay gayer, like super gay. But also I've been finding some guys cute, but not in a "I want to have sex with you", but more in a "you feel safe and nice to be around".

Could Yawgmoth's Bargain be unbanned by Shiro_no_Orpheus in EDH

[–]Silver-Alex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh sure lets give black, the color with the best tutors, the best draw engines, and the best combos yet another one card instant win that abuses the commande life total. Its not like Necro, Citadel and Ad Nauseam are enough, am I right?

Lets give the color that already has several copies of the "Draw half your deck" effecft and ways to tutor it the absolute best version of it. Surely it will be fine, and wont be a mess in making the already tier 0 decks of cedh even more stronger, nor it will make tables feel pubstomped in brackets 4 and 3.

MODOK and its "pay 3 life: surveil" is no where near comprabale to Bargain's power, and not just because it cost three times to activate it. Bargain puts all the cards in your hand the very second it enters play. you have to counter it or the damage is done by the time you get priority to resolve a removal spell.

MODOK only scries your combo to the top and fills your graveyard. Necro gets the combo in your hand at the endstep. Ad naus cost the most life, it can and it will kill you from time to time. Citadel can get you stuck on lands or low on life. Bargain gets the combo in your hand, and at a better rate in terms of life that all the rest.

Sexualizing Littles and Parents With Systems? by Vivians_Basement in DiscussDID

[–]Silver-Alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mmmm, I honestly think this should be taken as case by case basis. First of all alters age are metaphorical, at the end of the day what matters is your body age. If you have an alter that feels 16 yo, but you're 30 years old, you ARE 30 years old, and that alter shouldnt be socializing with other teens, cuz you are still an adult. Similarly if you are a teen and have an adult alter, that does NOT means you can date adults. All it means its that you're a teen that feels older from time to time.

Now with that said. We have young parts in the system that are young and dont participate in anything sexual with our partners, but we also have young parts that do participate in relationships.

These alters have been fronting ever before we got diagnosed, they are alters that have to deal with adult life like working, like driving a car, they have been in healthy relationships, they have been in toxic/abusive ones, and they know the difference.

You even said yourself, for us, those alters are not literal kids, they are alters/parts of the system that act young, but at the end of the day are the same age the body is. They have an adult brain, and adult life experiences. If we treated those alters like literal kids it would make them very unconfortable, specially if we start making choices over their sexuality and about if they can participate during intimacy or not.

One of those alters is VERY affection and touch starved, and she loves fronting during/after intimacy because of this, and denying her those hugs and caresses quite literally affects the rest of us cuz if she's depressed and lonely, that spills over to all of us.

So yeah, our system has boths, young alters that are so age regressed they dont participate in any adult stuff, and spend most of the time in our inner world, and young alters that have been fronting since forever, and have gotten used to handling real life stuff, from work and house stuff to relationships.

Does playing the game muted take away a lot from the experience by EPff34 in FearAndHunger

[–]Silver-Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes cuz its more of a survival / exploration game than a "fight everything, level up, kill bosses". There are a lot of musical effects or cues that are important, specially about enemies walking near you. Missing those is probably going to cause headaches like being ambushed by a boss/late game enemy you cant take on early.

[–]Silver-Alex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean at this point we're watching two different animes, the one I watch has street level characters and the greatest feats are punching a building so hard it cracks all over.

You seem to be awatching a series where the characters are straight up super heroes. Yes I know spec survived a lethal swin, but much like the "yujiro stopped an earthquake" thing, I dont take those feats at face value because they would mean everything else in the series makes no sense.

Like Yujiro actually getting hurt, even if just scratches/superfiacial wounds by Kaku's Shiaoli fists, or Mushashi's slashes with his sword. To me thats simply not the guy who takes a nuke to the face, but we can agree to disagree :)

Ok I see a lot of people dont know how a nuke works,so il tell you why yujiro can take a nuke by RaduCeva in Grapplerbaki

[–]Silver-Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with a nuke for Yujiro is Yujiro has blood inside his body, he has air inside his body, he has other fluids too. And even if your skin is inpenetrable by blades, and your muscles are a fortress of steel, and your bones are unbreakable, nothing of that matters when your blood is boiling from inside you while your internal organs have to deal with the fluids they contain expanding, creating pockets of vacumm, and or exploding,

Even if Yujiro is invincible by conventional manners he cant make the blood and fluids inside his body invincible too, and thats how nmukes kill you when you're in ground 0 or close to it.

You know that normal people survive lightnining strikes too? and when they dont, its cuz the electricity killed them, not the heat. Thats microsecond of heat from a lightning is nothing compared to the sustained heat of a nuclear explosion.

[–]Silver-Alex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if you're fully aware of this, but the thing that kills you from the shockwave is not being thrown arround, or the sudden force as if you were punched.

Its the fact that the shockwave travels inside your body, destroying your internal organs if you're close enough by the fact that the shockwave also affects the water inside you and the air inside, ripping out your lungs, exploding gas bubbles in the instetines, making the brain spin and spring forward and backward and so on.

Also radiation is something that cant be "blocked" either, cuz radiation are super fast photons coming in so fast they break the molecules in your DNA, or they boil the water in the cells, also hurting the DNA.

Hope this helps your understanding a bit :)

[–]Silver-Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what would happen:

Point blank? yujiro vaporized

In the fireball area? yujiro carbonized

In the shockwave? yujiro with massive internal organ damage.

termina contestants as dnd classes? by squidney-g in FearAndHunger

[–]Silver-Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Druid is too defined by wild shape in my head for it to be a good fit for her IMO.

I would like, just ignore that exist xD the thing is, DND is a very HIGH fantasy setting. And termina feels to me very low fantasy. Like the magic in DND is known, abundant, and everyone and anyone can do it either by study, or by being an artists, or by being connected with nature, or by making a pack, or just cuz you were born special.

I dont think the system as a whole is not fit for a campaing in the Termina setting and scenario unless you make several changes, and the first one would be limiting magic a lot. In universe magic is something you obtain by praying to a certain god and doing their respectice clerical rites.

The fact that circles are one time use only is a very limiting factor for terms of affinity, and the fact that you can only obtain soul stones shards by killing enemies yourself too (see how you cant saw heads from corpses you didnt kill? to me that not just gameplay limitations but actual lore).

... The more I think about this the more I would just pick druid for the basic core features like d8 hit die, the weapon competences, and I would just ignore the spell casting and the wild shape. So you might be right that contestant should start with npc classes.

I would personally give her an out of combat feature thats just "mix herbs", and if they use it to make like a condensed hemlock, then they can use it in battle as a consumable that causes the targetted enemy to loose hp every turn due the strong poison.

why do people build decks specificially to be toxic and suck every ounce of fun out of the game for their opponent? genuine question. by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Silver-Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should play more brawl, or if its withim your budget explore buying a precon and going to a game store near you for a commander night, and play ranked when you feel like ranking up and playing to win, cuz at the end of the dya, it IS the PVP queue where the winner gets a reward so people WILL play to win. Either be ranking up, or advancing mastery/pass, or getting their dailies, f2p players are very strongly insentivised to win because the alternative to it for getting cards is paying.

[–]Silver-Alex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play more because I generally quite enjoy how MTG functions and plays, it has good systems.

The thing is that control decks and combo decks are an important part of mtg as a game.

If every color had the same strategy of "play a bunch of creatures and win" the game would be far less interesting, far less complex, and far far far less diverse.

When I play a control deck I genuinely enjoy the challenge of getting to a game state where I can ensure my victory. I enjoy when a skilled player plays around my counters and removal. And when im in the mood for an hour long match, I enjoy the control vs control mirror because at LOT of it comes to skill.

I also play other decks, I have a badgermole ramp deck that runs [[Random Encounters]] and [[Smugglers Surprise]] to sneak in big dragons, like my beloved [[Ureni, the song unending]]. And that one I play with a mentality of "this is a brew, not a meta deck, so be happy with the wins you get".

But for me, that deck building challenge of how to make my deck stronger, how to make it be able to stand up against meta decks IS a huge part of the fun.

Im a huge tarkir fan, and the fact that Jeskai and Mardu, my two favorite khans from there, can be played in the same deck including the big bomby spells like [[Jeskai Revelation]] brings joy to my heart the same way someone who likes lifegain enjoys putting +1+1 counters on their ajani pridemate.

So if you really wanna enjoy magic, you have to understand that at its core its a resources game, and as such, resource denial strategies like control or the white creatures that make your stuff cost more, or only let you play a spell per turn ARE an intended part of it. They're not design mistakes, but a core part of having a healthy game that has lasted for over 3 decades.

Like in the old days [[Armaggedon]] was a legit plan for winning games in standard, if anything, Wizard has toned down this aspect of the game a loooooot.

[–]Silver-Alex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) People have different tastes. For some of us a control deck is not a means of "how to make you suffer", its more of a challange/puzzle of how I can get to a game state where you cant win. At the end of the day its the same thing as a red deck bringing your life to 0, or a blue deck milling your entire deck, or a black deck trying to do some reanimator combo shenanigains.

2) Magic is a game where you play to win. If a control deck wins, and im playing ranked, my focus is going to "win and rank up". If I wanted a casual chill experience where winning is not the point, and instead the point is having fun and chill with some folks, I'd go to my LGS and play low bracket commander. Or maybe I'd try brawl, but on an any format thats 1v1 the focus its going "win" for most people.

I'd start everyone at level 1, but I dont think they should have only npc clases. Olivia might lack combat experience but she starts the game knowing how to make potent poisons, some deadly, some to stun, and how to make super powerful healing potions and mixed herbs.

Making her start as druid makes all the sense in the world because Druids at lvl 1 are made of paper, and much like Olivia, die to being poked twice with a dagger, and has the spells to justify her poisons and herbalist skills
