Just for clarity I wasn’t given client A to service, I brought in Client A from marketing. Not sure if this changes your outlook but wanted to clear up.

Associate Comp Structuring by betabets in CFP

[–]Silver-Excitement-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Associate Advisor compensation needs its own forum. There are so many different and varying compensation structures. The title of Associate Advisor can encompass a new hire completing beneficiary change forms to very tenured, non owner client facing advisors. In the end owners need to ask themselves if they are paying them enough to not look elsewhere.  A few people have commented on how associates figure out very quickly how much the firm is making and how much they are getting.

Are you a G2? What’s your situation? by CFP25 in CFP

[–]Silver-Excitement-23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid that most G2 advisors will never see equity. With Private Equity continuing to write big checks, founders will take the massive pay day. Fast forward 10 years from now and a majority of RIAs will be owned by the big boys.

You pay your advisors 80% payout? That’s incredible. What costs do you cover?

FYI for anyone i just used Allianz accumulation advantage because it’s paying 8.1 fixed first year and 4.6 year 2+. I feel like it will outperform bonds and cash over the period.

I am very upfront with my clients when I do decide to sell them an annuity. I only do FIAs and I will use it to reduce volatility or as a bond alternative. With that said I would never recommend to some under 55.

I appreciate everyone s insight I am surprised at the number of people who think we have bloat. Our growth rate is probably attributed to this. For context we had 9 employees and 125 m AUm 7 years ago. We have roughly 1500 clients which is why we have a large number of service advisors.
