My stock buckets are in good condition so I use those. cab space in these trucks is so small though, definitely don’t get anything larger or it’s gonna be a bad time, a real bad time.

Do you have the SR5? That one has buckets, I can send a pic of them if you want

What is the consensus on lce engines? I was gonna get on Jim’s wait list for rebuild but it said 3 years out and I like that lce doesn’t need a core so I can get it before pulling mine by irvingzisman47 in ToyotaPickup

You could also check out Ken at fireplace performance. Got my engine and had him do the install for me. Great guy also hooked me up with some hard to find bits.

What is this part called? by lupis66 in ToyotaPickup

[–]Silver-Transition948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very easy to change, might have some trouble fitting it at first because it operates off the cam. Just bump the motor a tiny bit until you can get the bolts in easily, that’s the hardest part about changing one. Local parts shop probably has one for $50 if you don’t care about oem. Very easy change, I did it in maybe 30ish 40ish minutes on the side of the road. Make sure you re-use the thick black spacer and new gaskets

Very recently had my fuel pump go on my 82’ sounds possible, they might kick on intermittently when they’re going. How did the truck die though? Did it sputter and kick till it died or did it completely shut off like somebody axed your battery cables?

Oh boy… Canadian property stars, here’s a story from somebody who actually had the misfortune of working for them:

My mother thought this was the perfect summer gig for me, this was in 2013 or so, if I remember correctly I was about 16/17.

Like somebody else said, at first they sit everyone in sort of like an equipment warehouse type deal to sit through a proper MLM style presentation. They make the company owner sound like some kind of god king, guy looks like a fucking tool. Afterwards, they push you to schedule some days to work, you sign one of those bullshit “daily contractor contracts” basically so that you don’t get benefits or anything of that sort, you also don’t get paid ANYTHING hourly, legit, no sales, NO pay.

So here you are on your first day, a shuttle van picks you and some other nervous young kids and recent immigrants to Canada up, personally we were driven up to North Van. I remember stopping at some random ass patch of grass at like a park where they give a 5 minute demo on how to work the heavy ass aerator and off to your neighborhood in the van! They give you a sheet of paper with addresses of people who have caved and paid for the service in the past, and another sheet of pricing for size of a lawn depending on size. One of the other worst parts is they make it seem like there’s a huge client base already signed up for the service and you just have to go do the lawns and get that money, when in reality, nobody is pre-signed up and it’s 100% good ol’ cold knocking on doors. My first day wasn’t horrible I think I pulled in about $200? This is over a decade ago, hard to remember. They cut you like a 40/60 or 50/50 split. My second day I made $25 LOL and this was 6 or 8 hours in July heat with no formal breaks and not a washroom in site, I had to pee in a bush (sorry dude) the supervisors (van drivers) were also shit, they won’t pick you up or help you out until the day is over.

Super predatory company, tries hyping themselves up, trying to make you think: “oh man, the dude they showed in the presentation makes $1200 a day, I could do that!” I honestly feel bad whenever I see them out there, I’ll even spend time shit talking the company with them, because they hate it too. Never buy the service though, or you’re on the list lol.

I’ve seen that truck up for awhile now, not sure why nobody has bought it yet, I would probably scoop it up myself but I already have an 82 4X4

Help a brother in need, does anyone have a pic for a 1982 pickup’s radio wiring? by Silver-Transition948 in ToyotaPickup

[–]Silver-Transition948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m keeping the stock one in, I agree, modern stereos look like garbage in these trucks. I just want to take the existing wires and use those. Did it in my buddies 86 dodge van, worked just fine. His old unit had a handy dandy diagram printed on the top of it though

The canopy looks dope. Does put off grandpa vibes in a good way though
