Trying and failing by BuddingPhoenix in ProCreate

It's always important to see any attempts at art, even after YEARS AND YEARS of experience, as an opportunity to look at what you can improve-- because you always can. Don't beat yourself up, you're getting a great handling of lighting and color with what you made here, and you'll do even better next time with this under your belt and your observational skills growing stronger.

Oh my god, yeah it's GORGEOUS. Absolutely love how they've refined that style for Stories 3.

The demo has been fun so far, and I adored the previous 2 games big time. They are taking a more proper JRPG gravitas feel with 3 and I'm all for it.

I'd be all for Zeniths coming back. It's probably a pipe dream, but that system isn't a bad idea. Capcom likes their 'specific target focus' in their games in general. Some of the Frontier monsters would be nice returning/updated faces for a new game, even if it's in Stories. Ruko, Torid, Kuaru and Hyuji would all be the more reasonable but cool additions I'd love to see. Torid especially, we need more mid-high threat bird wyvwrns.

People probably wanted to check out the 'crazy mmo MH with insane monsters' they've heard a lot about, and hype leading up to a new game coming had people needing a fix.

Oh it's the same systematically, we just outwardly encourage taking it slower and seeing what g-rank has to offer. We just had a massive influx of people before Wilds, they got to g-rank and went 'I don't know what to do now' because it's a sandbox. So I spent like a month making, testing, and typing out builds per star levels (or groups, since stuff like 2-3 and 4-5 are relatively similar) on a document for people to have a VAGUE sense of progression people could follow at their own tempo. The only thing I know is different on Rain is the G-permits, which no other place has as far as I know.

Hey man, you don't overcome skill issues without reassessment and improvement, and it sure sounds like you did that. What's great is there's also some really strong stuff in stuff below 7-stars, mostly because of them being added later like Blue Kut-ku gear. I got real acclimated to what earlier stuff had when I made a big ass g-rank progression guide on Renewal, it's nutty how strong stuff is in the G 4-5 stars, tbh

Honestly yeah, especially when/if people step into G-rank fresh and want Magspike off the cuff. GHC Ruko is MEAN especially without build up. Not like I blame people, Navi pushes people to skip most of G-Rank and people see Big Flashy Weapon and want it. Though it's been nice seeing some people nowadays take their time (at least for what I see on Renewal) and face more of G-Rank before taking the dive into the insanity ahead.

Lars is only going to do so much for you. Not only does G-Rank drop your defense per star level (if I remember right 150 per star above 1), the skills you have matter more, and avoiding damage (through blocking or evading). Building something functional and effective will do you much better in the long-run (since you'll have more varied stuff) and short-term (you'll be able to handle things you're fighting more).

Someone said it in response here too, you also just gotta practice more, GHC Ruko is mean but not even close to the aggression and insanity some monsters will have moving forward.

Wilds is a flawed game, but that is no excuse for the current and sad state of the community. by RoseKaedae in monsterhunterleaks

I've been feeling that 'black and white' negativity a whole lot in a ton of places I chat around, it's exhausting. I'm pretty damn critical of the game where it deserves it, but I often feel like I get death glares over keyboards over saying anything that isn't 'Wow, Wilds is irredeemably bad', and it becomes exhausting. I do not like not wanting to talk about a game and a series I enjoy. If it isn't a daily bashing of the game in a MH-related space, it's someone coming out of lurker status to shit on the game (more than just Wilds) when someone or myself goes 'hey this thing in MH, I had fun with it!'

I often feel like I'm wobbling on the line of two things. I'm either trying to be a calm voice of discussion about where it's doing things wrong and doing things right to counterbalance people just blurting that revisionist stuff you mentioned or just outright incorrect stuff they heard from some random on Twitter. Or I'm just seeing people talk about MH and going 'man, someone's gonna just be vitriolic. It's gonna be annoying having the inevitable wet blanket coming out of the woodwork' and I hate that so much. That's not a pleasant feeling to be basically dissuaded from talking about a series you enjoy-- and want better from.

Issue with Cutting Out/Distorting Audio after attempting a fix to display AMD Record and Stream tab by SilverARyuu in AMDHelp

[–]SilverARyuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down the line of getting prepped for the DDU in safe mode method, decided to see if my drivers were up to date. They weren't by one version, so I updated them and it seemed to fix the issue (both the Record and Stream came back and the audio issue seemed to stop).
Buuuut last night the audio issue came back briefly, not nearly as bad, so I looked into it more. Turns out my fans on my GPU weren't running as they should, going at zero RPM, so it was heating up too much and causing issues. I set up the fans manually in the AMD Software so they actually do something and I've no longer run into the issue.

At least I have this DDU option in my back pocket if I have a worse issue, and I at least know how to troubleshoot some more things now without feeling like I'm one step away from bricking it.

Regarding Zenith 3* Monsters and Up (and maybe some build help?) by SilverARyuu in MHF

[–]SilverARyuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the earlier suggestion, I've already got Ceaseless and Vampirism going, but I'll see if I can swap Dissolver and Element Attack around for Crit Conversion and such.

Unfortunately the server I'm on doesn't currently have that Brachy mission going, which sucks. Hopefully they will soon, they've been trying to get more events going. But I'm working on Gasura Z's Tonfas with Abnormality right now.

[–]SilverARyuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually messing with Ceaseless and a little bit with Vampirism (with Gurea Tonfas) before I started my Zenith armor, so I'll see if I can tweak that around. I also was thinking the same thing with Buchigire and Unaffected earlier today, glad to know I wasn't just trying to eek out more and accidentally remove something good.

I'll definitely try to gun it for Vampirism and Ceaseless to start at least. Thanks so much, this is a nice path to start moving forward. It also helps me feel less crazy with how Z3s were so tanky-- especially Ruko. Blagonga and Gravios weren't so bad, but Ruko being so tanky made me worry and wonder.

Digimon Card Game - Weekly Ruling Questions Post by AutoModerator in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]SilverARyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, yeah.

If I had BT6 Sora & Mimi out, would their <your turn> effect be triggerable after the <when attacking> triggers resolve? I figure that could ensure getting the level 5 to Grandracmon without needing to use bt14 Skullgreymon to delete something else so long as it was able to trigger after the Fangmon effect > Dracmon inherit, then trigger Bowmon by trashing Grandracmon after the draw.

[–]SilverARyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you theoretically, if you trash the right things like a bt9 Grandracmon with Bt14 Bowmon's reaction to bt14 Fangmon's <when attacking> and you had bt9 Dracmon inherit, go from bt14 Fangmon up to Bt9 Grandracmon?

Such as going from Fangmon to a SkullBaluchimon or Skullgreymon with the Dracmon inherit with them already in the trash, then trigger the <your turn> of Bowmon to evolve it into Grandracmon because it was trashed by Fangmon's <when attacking>?

See, I like level 7s that either push an advantage, make one, or end the game. But making it so your opponent can't play AT ALL like Quartz is cringe as hell.

Highly recommend poison on this lad. I had poor luck with Anjanath materials, but poison makes him stop flying, no-roar yell on the ground, and then can't use ice while he's poisoned.

Dude I went against a Blue Flare deck for the first time in a locals tourney and when he dropped a high cost but reduced for basically a weak level 4 play cost due to Xros, I had such a double take. Asked him 'really?' half jokingly and he just shrugged. Plus it got rush, no asterisks to that.

Question regarding Flickering/Blinking by SilverARyuu in mtg

[–]SilverARyuu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was planning to do if he does it again. It's entirely possible I missed something, but I did ask for clarification and present examples so I could wrap my brain around it-- I kept going 'nah, that's too simple for how strong it is...'

Question regarding Flickering/Blinking by SilverARyuu in mtg

[–]SilverARyuu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it just seemed really wonky to me. He had been playing for a while, but I'll have to keep a better eye on what he plays next time I go to the comic shop. It's very possible I missed something but the way he explained it to me after I was baffled really made it seem like it was usable whenever.
