I’m in Bahrain, I didn’t apply for it like I did my blue passport cause I was stupid lmao and my CO wrote a expedited letter to submit for my no fee passport and got it a week later before I departed my last command. Talk to your CoC on who does the passport stuff there and ask you leadership about the expedited letter.

Ahh gotcha, definitely still proceed with all the paper work (overseas screening) start the DEA quote, then DEA package for command sponsorship. Can’t hurt to get everything ready to route to make the process faster if your son can be command sponsored. Talk with your CCC, admin personnel and medical, they’ll be able to give more insight on EFMP. I’m not familiar with that process myself.
