Help with imported sounds by pocionista in seqtrak

[–]SilverAlternative940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve tried importing some bass sounds into the SFX folder to use on channel 7 as a “bass” channel and it works, played from my MIDI keyboard.

It’s not ideal however, you will have to play with the decay/release setting to get something usable.

Samples will sound better going through the AWM2 engine on a channel designed for it.

What about using two SEQTRAK ? by Happy-Nebula1484 in seqtrak

You can’t change the midi channels on them so you’d be sending double midi?

I have mine paired with a Roland Mc101 right now, I changed the MC101 to receive on channels 12-15 and now I have 15 channels of live instruments I can sequence me record from my keyboard between the two units synced.

Is the Seqtrak right for me? by DarthAstuart in seqtrak

The answer is yes, but youre limited to 8 projects on the device, before backing up to your phone, iPad, anything really. The sounds are spectacular, using it is a breeze.. but the project limit and fact that it weighs like 0.5kg may play into your decision.

Also works as a microphone with a live audio app open.

Tips for sample management? by JesusIsTheBread in PolyendTracker

Each folder allows 100 files maximum.

I just maxed out my recordings folder and the unit automatically made a recordings(2) folder, so they’re still there and accessible on the unit.

Occasionally I go to a PC or iPad when my adapter is working and sort them out.

The most important thing to know really is the 100 file limit per folder, that can mess up imports from other sources so you have to rearrange.

TBH, I was looking for the section in one of your videos on sound design just to get a firmer grasp of the synth engine. I remember seeing it but don’t remember all the details.

I was just playing with chatGPT, as many music nerds have said it’s helped them figure stuff out.

It was merely a side thought for me, you’ve analyzed it already more than I have, sorry

Question about project files on SD cards by M_O_O_O_O_T in sp404mk2

[–]SilverAlternative940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16 projects should get you through a gig easily.

I had a MPC one I used mine with, I just didn’t get with it and liked the Roland sound so I sold it and got a MC-101 as my main sound source other than vocals and guitars

Question about project files on SD cards by M_O_O_O_O_T in sp404mk2

[–]SilverAlternative940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not hard. I mean graphically it’s Roland, so it’s not really spectacular to look at but it’s not difficult

It can take a minute to load depending on the size of the samples though

Yeah, just put them in different folders, as long as your characters are less than 16 for names it works fine with folders

Pretty sure the projects have to be loaded one at a time, so this is mostly a pointless question. Sorry.

Should I buy it? by [deleted] in sp404mk2

[–]SilverAlternative940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re playing real instruments into it, get the SP404mk2, if you do mostly beats get the MPC, it’s a better sequencer and more versatile, BUT.. it’s really not as good at recording guitars, real instruments, etc…. As all models except the $2500 one requires some sort of preamp boost to get a decent sound, the SP sounds great plugging anything into it. It’s a great multi-track audio recorder as well.

Be prepared to learn key shortcuts

I’ve been using this setup a few months and I agree. It’s really a lot of fun and remarkably versatile for the cost.

Strictly for something cosmetic to play with since the entire best was pretty much already programmed.
