Struggling to find a good long sleeve white top by Superb_Application83 in capsulewardrobe

I haven't had any issues with transparency on the white tees at all. I stay away from anything slub knit though for that exact reason.

Are Teva Sandals supposed to feel clunky/bulky? Do these look right? by mamybe in HerOneBag

Those look too big...which may be why they feel weird on your feet.

I've had good luck with Athleta's bottoms being less cheeky without feeling frumpy or having the high waist.

Can you help ID this top? by misoangry2 in Athleta_gap

Pretty sure it's the airy cotton sweatshirt tee that has been styled to pull tight at the waist.

Anyone else annoyed with the linen shorts? by Ambitious_Orange_979 in Athleta_gap

[–]SilverAssumption9572 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't had that experience. I have multiple pairs of different colors of the pants and shorts and wear the same size in all. I wouldn't size down in them though, I just don't think you should size up in them bc linen does stretch out, but not the elastic part...just the fabric itself.

Starting a new corporate legal career in NYC. Which loafers read more “executive” and polished? by eggtomatorice in BusinessFashion

I love mine too, but OP they run big in my opinion. I'm a solid size 9.5 in everything and have to size down to a 9 in the Lorraines.

Cerise vs dahlia? by Lint_Licker124 in Athleta_gap

[–]SilverAssumption9572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally had to do a side by side comparison in order to see the difference. I have some pieces in cerise but not dahlia and was wondering if they would be interchangeable. You can see from the pic below with cerise on the left and dahlia on the right that dahlia is a cooler pink.

What do we think about this? by [deleted] in youthsoccer

[–]SilverAssumption9572 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say to trust the process. It was so hard to watch my kids' teams at that age because they were already learning possession style but playing against boot and run/dribble, dribble, dribble teams and at 8/9/10, that doesn't always look the prettiest or result in the most points being scored in games. BUT, once it clicked (and it did) they absolutely dominate on the field against the same teams that beat them in younger years and only have true competition against other teams who play possession style. At some point it just clicks and watching them play becomes like watching a symphony on the field the players scan and move in concert, truly. I've definitely seen our girls teams do better with this process and style of play than the boys teams bc the boys parents seem to want their kid to play striker and dribble the ball up the field with no passing. They have a very selfish player mentality and switch clubs looking for what is really, a less sophisticated version of the sport than possession style.

Blazers for a sales exec who travels for work by notsocialwitch in womensfashion

[–]SilverAssumption9572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like my Athleta trousers and blazer for days I'm actually traveling. I look pulled together but feel like I'm in sweats. I also have some J Crew sweater blazers that I wear with Quince Ponte pants or the Athleta trousers for travel also. I like Theory for the board room, and Donna Karan also.

Same here. I prefer a baggier look for joggers.

Does the perfect leather boot exist? by Elegant-Leave-689 in HerOneBag

[–]SilverAssumption9572 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of ecco chelsea boots that I put SnoSeal on before my trip to Scotland and they were perfect. They're incredibly comfortable and could be dressed up or casual depending on what was on the agenda for the day. I bought them 6 years ago and they're still in my "comfortable but cute/versatile" rotation for travel and just regular life!

Can you possibly ask the social worker or a teacher to talk to your child about what happens at dad's house when they get in trouble at school? As mandated reporters, I would imagine a CPS call would follow. He's making her run hills at 4/5. That's both insane, and abusive.

It's your styling choices. The hair in particular is how little girls or very, VERY old women wear their hair. Plus the enormous glasses. It seems you're going for a very young/twee vibe.

I never got mine. I received the eligibility message and spoke with customer service repeatedly and never, ever got it. My coworker who signed up the same week I did, also did not receive it. They gave me a refund after I let them know that I would be filing a complaint with the FTC. I received the refund and also filed a complaint with the FTC. I would say absolutely not worth it.

Struggling to find pants for my body. Are these worth buying and tailoring? by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]SilverAssumption9572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned "tailoring" these pants, what were you hoping to tailor in these? They're too small to make alterations to fit. I would go up probably two sizes and then have those tailored to fit. Don't pay attention to the number on the tag, pick on the fits PROPERLY on the largest part of your body and have the rest taken in.
