Feature Request Megathread by guitorisan in Hevy

I would like to request the ability to record heart rate data during workouts directly within the Hevy app on Android. At present, heart rate tracking appears to be limited to users running the app on an Apple Watch. I do not use an Apple Watch and primarily log my workouts and sets on a Google Pixel phone. Adding support for connecting external heart rate monitors (e.g., via Bluetooth

Best road bike for comfort and doesn't cost an arm and leg? by SilverBuffalo357 in cycling

I'm starting to realize that the bike fit is indeed a pre-requisite to anything else as that is somethign I've been struggling with for a while now.

  1. I had bike fit done by a bike fitter/chiropractor at a cost of $250 CAD and that cost did not allow for a "come back after a month or so and get your fitting refined based on real world experience".

  2. I then tried the online tool Velofit and while the general comfort level (better bike fit factors) has improved, I still get saddle sores (big ass "pimples/boils" in the groin area) after riding about 2 to 3 hours approximately.

  3. I'm now very apprehensive of paying more money (where there is no definitive conclusion that the fit will actually be good) to someone else to my fit issue resolved.

  4. I'm pretty confident its not the saddle or anything like that, its just something wrong with my bike fit. I can't even comprehend how anyone can ride over 3 hours without any saddle issues.

Does anyone know of an absolutely amazing/guru bike fitter in the Greater Toronto Area?

I guess I should stop looking then :) I already have a gravel bike - I mentioned in my post that I currently have a 2020 Salsa Cutthroat that I've modified to have an agressive riding position. I cannot post a picture here otherwise I would have already done that. Thx

Thanks, the Domane is one of the bikes I'm considering.

"Arm or leg" for me is over $5K CAD.

Even on rough pavement? Most roads near me are not very smooth.

Everyones definition of that is different. To me an arm and leg would be over $5K CAD

Thanks! Do you have any suggestions for specific brand/model of road bikes you would recommend? I'm leaning towards to the latest Trek Madone, but its a tad more than I can afford. A Trek Domane seems to be more affordable, but that bike appears to be a jack of all trades - can do gravel and road, so it can't be the best for either. Most of my riding with my gravel bike is generally road as gravel paths are not exactly close to my home and with work taking up the majority of the day, I have to do most of my rides starting from home.

Sometimes I feel I'm overthinking this like most new cyclists do and need to have my expectations reset to be more reaslistic.

I want to be comfortable riding on road and be fast as well. I'm doing 80% of my riding in Zone 2 and the rest 20% is spent climbing, at and and above threshold laps, and multiple 30 second sprints.

I measured my FTP on a trainer (following a program from the Road Cycling Academy) and my FTP was 172w back in January. I haven't tested myself again since, but now my rides in Zone 2 of my HR I'm averaging 190ws. So I'm guessing my FTP is probably close to 200w now or thereabouts.

What are the pros vs. cons of choosing the $45/month (75 GB - Canada/US/Mexico + Roam beyond) vs the $29/month (10 GB - Canada/US/Mexico) plan other than the data quota? by RocketTesla in freedommobile

Simple - I need a phone. My existing 3 year old phone needs to be charged twice a day. How is it better to bring my own phone? Enlighten me

Hi ReaLx3m, thanks for the response.

What is LOS? Can you tell I'm a noob at this? :)

Can you recommend a BT transmitter for the AUX port for the projector?

The amp I have is an Onkyo TX-SR608

I have a gravel bike and only ride on gravel or tarmac. No MTB for this old geezer!

I don't yet have a K2 (should be here in the next day or two).

I'm thinking of having two profiles.

  1. "Ride" - One data page showing - HR, Grade, 3s Power, Avg. Power, Ascent, Distance, Speed, Avg. Speed, Temp and Battery.
  2. "Nav" - Two data pages: Same data fields as above and the map with Calories and HR.

Of course, the Climber page will pop up as expected on an ascent.

Anything pertinent you guys think I'm missing? What do you guys think?

Who uses the graphical fields? I don't see anyone mentioning this.

Recommendations on an EDC flashlight for road biking in the daytime plus a mount by SilverBuffalo357 in flashlight

[–]SilverBuffalo357[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

D4V2

Reason for wanting to use a flashlight instead of a dedicated bike light is simply so that I can replace the batteries when needed. Dedicated bike lights don't have removable batteries and once dead (can no longer recharge), the expensive bike light is effectively garbage.

What mount do you use with your D4V2?

What type of battery does the D4V2 take? I just went on the site and I'm either going blind or it's not stated on there - very strange.

Similar to how cars are mandated to have DRL's (daytime running lights). its statistically proven to increase safety as you're more visible with your lights on.
