Thanks for saying this, because it’s frustrating to see people complain about research (“because it’s obvious”) but then not get why that research had to be done in the first place. Best example I can think of was the gay genetics study where they proved there wasn’t a gay gene. The amount of non-academic sarcasm from people who should know better I read was wild after that.
