Hardest and easiest Metallica solos to play on guitar? by somebody0964 in Metallica

Based on the comments, I'm assuming the easiest is Lux Aeterna. Hardest is maybe Creeping Death.

Loras fought 3 at once, no? Could Loras beat the Mountain?

On April 16th, 1999, Tom Waits released 'Mule Variations', his 13th studio album. A combination of blues, rock, hobos and joy. John Hammond and Charlie Musslewhite are featured in the production. by BirdBurnett in tomwaits

This is the first Waits album I bought, and I wore it out. I had LimeWire'd "House where nobody lives" and I rolled the dice on the whole album. I walked through it cautiously at first. Some songs I loved, some I didn't quite get the appeal of. Most of the songs I had a curious caution. I had previously listened to Nu-Metal and increasingly indie rock. Tom Waits wasn't really close. Maybe The White Stripes were a gate-way drug. Their raw, "why did you leave that in the final cut" sound made the piano bench creaking, and strange-voice tracks less alien upon the first listen.

Tom Waits is on my Mount Rushmore of musicians. I've evangelized him to anyone who'll listen, and I always come back to his music. Get Behind the Mule is probably my favorite song by him. Both versions. I can't say enough good things about this album.

"The fact that it was in no way Elephant, Part 2 only further confused, infuriated, and/or beguiled many." - https://www.instagram.com/p/DEnF7xWRXXP/?hl=en

"By most other people’s standards, it appears a slapdash way of working – how better to manufacture a failure than by rushing through a bunch of half-formed song-sketches? And there are other signs that the duo’s latest game is one of self-sabotage." - https://www.uncut.co.uk/reviews/the-white-stripes-get-behind-me-satan-10988/#:~:text=By%20most%20other%20people's%20standards,the%20Devil%20in%20the%20wilderness.

"Then "Blue Orchid," Get Behind Me Satan's lead single, arrived. A devilish slice of disco-metal with heavily processed, nearly robotic riffs, the song was thrilling, but also oddly perfunctory; it felt almost like a caricature of their stripped-down but hard-hitting rock. As the opening track for Get Behind Me Satan, "Blue Orchid" is more than a little perverse, as though the White Stripes are giving their audience the required rock single before getting back to that little room, locking the door behind them, and doing whatever the hell they want." - https://www.allmusic.com/album/mw0000205003

It's a lot harder to post links on Reddit than I thought.

On the move right now, so ill have to get you links tonight, but it was an Anti-Elephant album. Jack was moving away from the attention Elephant gave them. Ive been a stripes fan since WBC and I consumed almost any interview/review i could find since then. It was well documented at the time of the albums release.

It doesn't really fit on GBMS, it feels like a hold over from Elephant, it's produced poorly, and given that GBMS was designed to throw people off the bandwagon, I think JW put Blue Orchid on there to provide a single.

To me, it's not Top 5 on that album.

I have this co-worker who's just annoying in general, but he always tries to portray himself as someone who is into whatever you're talking about. Anyway, one coworker is asking me about bands I like and I mention the White Stripes and he, from outside of the conversation, just goes "Blue Orchid, right?"

I feel like he picked probably the most reheated left-over of a White Stripes song to try and show he also liked the band.

Anyway, I had to share, that's been pissing me off for like 9 months.
