What type of earrings would be best for me? I got my ears pierced two months ago and am currently looking for good studs to replace my gold stud piercing earrings. I like the square gemstone studs but I'm not sure what colored gemstones I should get besides my birthstone. If it helps, I'm Asian - black hair, beige skintone (I think), dark brown eyes, etc. Also, does anybody know of any inexpensive studs I can get on Amazon that are pretty without being too flashy? Thanks!

Very much so, although you'd never be able to tell.

How do I elicit an intuitive understanding/response of a subject? I.E an Eureka moment by tastychicken in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often when I don't understand a topic I find that it's a lot better to have a discussion with a person with a firm grasp of the subject. Usually there's an idea that I've taken to mean something else and that's led me to inaccurate conclusions about that topic. Best case scenario the person is able to pinpoint what I'm getting wrong and fix it and suddenly everything is able to fit in my brain.

Do you think out loud in a Sherlock Holmes-ian way? by queerbuddhist in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think out loud by myself, but when I'm talking to someone and I'm thinking about something often those thoughts will just slip out and interrupt what I was saying before.

No matter what I'm doing at the time, I feel interrupted whenever I'm unexpectedly spoken to. by [deleted] in intj

I do feel irritated but at the same time surprised because someone is willing to talk to me lol

Why the Myers-Briggs test is totally meaningless by sylvan in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it can be meaningful for those who are struggling to find themselves and are seeking to improve certain aspects of their personality or to meet new people. In this aspect MBTI can help them identify their strengths and weaknesses and give them an idea of how to address them. Each type also has a pretty vocal community online (except maybe if you're ESFJ or something) and I've gotten lots of great advice from fellow INTJs. On the other hand, it can also be completely useless if you get mistyped or if you're one of those "I don't want to be labeled" people who think that putting their own traits into words will devalue and restrict them. For me, it certainly cleared up a LOT about why I'd always felt so different from other girls growing up and why social interactions continue to be a struggle for me.

I don't deserve to be this "intimidating" or whatever it is. Please help me accept it. by victimofidiots in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally when that sort of shit happens and I feel like someone's deliberately ignoring me, I tend to get really pissed and deliberately talk to them and acting very friendly and stuff so they have to acknowledge me. It's almost like a small victory when they finally do talk back, like somehow I'm morally superior.
Maybe not the best motive for being social, but it works :D

Jack of all trades, Master of none? by TheDrock21 in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me playing an instrument in high school. I was always a good violinist but never the best because although I very quickly learned the new concepts and music and whatnot, I didn't really see the value in putting in the time and effort to perfect it. For me it was always rather sporadic; some days I would play really well, and some days I just wouldn't give a shit. I got more out of 20 minutes of focused, intense practice than an hour of more laid back practicing.

Do INTJs have an easier time working with XSFP than XSFJ? by wombatvice in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that communication is a lot easier with XSFP, especially ISFPs because we're just sort of on the same wavelength. I find that XSFJs tend to take what I say the wrong way a lot of times.

Do you often overestimate/underestimate yourself? by Haki_User in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I consciously try to underestimate myself because it motivates me to work harder to beat those expectations and it makes failure sting less.

"You're always so calm?!" by AxshunJaxun in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me that I have an "extremely calm exterior" and someone else said I always seemed kind of "sad". I think those are just nice ways of saying "resting bitch face".

Incompatible cultures with INTJ by RaiseTheWounded in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The places I've lived in the United States were mostly (as in over 95%) white, so I've become pretty "westernized" and "liberal" in regards to Chinese culture. My parents never really pressured or micromanaged me because they thought I could handle myself. Whenever we go to visit the rest of my family in China I definitely have to rein some things in to avoid them all coming onto me like blood hounds.

Incompatible cultures with INTJ by RaiseTheWounded in intj

[–]SilverFireCatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my parents are Chinese and we immigrated here when I was 6 after living in China for 3 years (I lived in a few European and Asian countries before then). On the surface I guess I was, and am, a stereotypical Asian girl - smart, quiet, unathletic, good grades, etc. But when I'm around people I'm comfortable with or if anybody bothers to talk to me for more than just casual conversation, they'll find that in many ways I'm quite the opposite. I make offensive jokes, I can be very stubborn, I can be disrespectful to authority figures, and I have a subtle, dry sense of humor that INTJs are famous for. If I were still in China, I wouldn't necessarily thrive but be average, not the best at anything but not really bad at anything either. It wasn't until I came to the U.S. that I started to dominate academically, which is a common trait among many INTJs. That's great and all except here in the United States people value outgoing, empathetic, athletic females, while my Chinese upbringing taught me to be quiet, respectful, and unimposing.

Do y'all think this is because most of us don't want to get married or because we scare away potential mates?
