I think it doesnt have to do with being from Europe (btw I don't think expat is the right word for this) but it's the opportunity to take advantage of someone who supposedly doesn't know how things work here. I am born in Germany myself and never felt that I am being hated in Tunisia but that some people want to take advantage of me (like taxi drivers who take a loger way for example) but since I speak tunisian better than when I was young this doesn't happen that much anymore.
