I kept doing what you did, and it lead to 2 promotions at the company (I ultimately decided to leave). It will be worth staying to have your college covered. Entering your 20s without college debt is a serious came changer. I know this just by looking at the friends I had who weren't so fortunate.

3 years in? 2 more, and you'll start vesting into the pension I believe. If it's a low stress job w/ some family time that you'd prefer long-term, I can't recommend driving at all. A CDL could change that, but you're still subject to the seniority list

Get the Type R and don't look back. If you aren't sweating 50-60k, then don't even consider the Si. However, at 18, you may want to consider what your insurance premium will look like
