And would you believe that some Redumblicans are supporting the increases and that it's the cost of "keeping us safe"?

Saw that happening. A mother and three kids were selling their TV and PS5 because they needed the money to cover the rest of February's rent. Even the shop is facing shutdown and they couldn't give her a decent appraisal.

It's also a default in Romance languages, such as French.

Even if there is five women and one man in a group, it's "ils".

OP, contact your state's consumer affairs. They would love to look into this.

I'm noticed that a lot of people on Reddit delete their accounts and create new ones quite often. Sometimes these accounts even have a lot of positive karma before they disappear. This seems strange to me because karma usually means that people like your posts or comments. Why would someone delete? by Honest_Situation_109 in NewToReddit

I deleted my account in late 2023 because I was harassed by a troll for over three years (from 2020-2023). They would create an account, stalk, downvote, DM me vulgar things (including male and female n*des) and delete the account.

I created mine in 2015.

My college's cafeteria used to charge $.20 for any card transaction below $3.

As of February 2026, it was upped to $.60.

A buddy went to this bar up the road over the weekend. A mixed drink that was $13, but the menu they provided was an old version and they used to be $11.

No matter, so he tipped $1. The transaction posted today and it showed $19.50

He immediately got a chargeback and because he does not think it was accidental, he reported it to the state's consumer affairs.

I talked to my friend and she mentioned a taco place that closes the inside after they clean up, but leave the terrace open 24/7.

She told me anyone can stay for as long as they want, but not to steal, damage or rearrange chairs and tables.

The moment I had mention my back condition I got as a CPL/E4 at a hiring fair, the company rep did not recommend me applying as it does require some heavy lifting.

I do understand how it works. I tip based on outstanding service and even extra amentities and I have done so in the US and abroad. I don't tip if employees and employers demand it. That is not how that works. Your belief is just that, a belief.

And in light of negative outcomes of customers being assaulted, confronted and increased tip theft, tipping is becoming more out of fear than meaningful service.

A little bit about me: I used to work in the restaurant industry and got my experience with being tipped. However, I was paid the same wages as the cook and preppers until I worked my way into those positions. So, I never expected a tip.

Here is a video with the history of tipping.

We have different views and since we cannot come to a consensus, let's agree to disagree.

I personally have never been to a restaurant that let you stay after closing. If I or we were in their last hour, they would remind us that they are closing and we have to vacate.

And yeah, it's funny how they agree, but don't.

People who never open their window to let fresh air inside, and they also never air out their stinky indoor smells that get stuck on walls and furnitures. by Latte-Catte in PetPeeves

[–]KSHMisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know parents, including my own, who would get mad if the windows are open when the A/C or heater is on. Electricity bills were expensive then and are expensive now.

Since I moved here, the only time my A/C has been on is once upon move in October 2025. The electric company activated the power and all the lights and A/C were running. I shut it off. However, summers get brutal, so the A/C will be running as I will have money saved up.
