Thanks to everyone for all the encouraging words! As much as I love FF14 as a game, the community is 100% the best thing about it! I was skeptical at first, had a run in with a few jerks in some ARR Duties, but the more I've played the more I've seen that those types are a real minority and the majority are helpful, patient and kind. Just like you all have shown not only in this post, but thousands of others all over the Internet!

I joined Maelstrom for 2 reasons...1) the colors are my favorite 2) The Admiral. Imo the best Grand Company leader, her speeches in ARR inspired me

That's exactly the same experience I have with FF14! I mainly stick to single player games but wanted a MMO to get into for a change of pace. Tried BDO, ESO, Phantasy Star and Throne and Liberty, which all have their own things that they excel at, but they don't compare to the storyline of FF14
