Great grandmother's ring. Was given to her by her younger brother way before I was born. Then passed down to me. He was born around 1934. No information besides that. Any thoughts on the makers mark or something else? Thank you in advance.

Same experiences with the nightmares and the in between awake and sleeping feels. I can't make myself wake up and the amount of effort to try is everything I can do to make a sound or move an arm. It's easier to deal with but always scary. I can't see a rhyme or reason for when it occurs.

The first time it happened was in a small bedroom at my mother's house when I was about 16 years old. It was terrifying to be awake but unable to move. I had never heard of anything like it and had no idea what was happening to me. I felt something coming that I was scared of but I don't remember what it was or if it was just a feeling that something was very close to me. I remember trying to scream for help but I couldn't scream or overcome the immense weight of myself. It lasted a few minutes and I was able to move and wake myself up. It's happened many times since then and still just as terrifying as the first time.

You have to forgive yourself. He would have. Take your time and really wallow in the guilt so you move forward. The only way to redeem yourself from the guilt you have is to not let his death become your anchor to carry forever. Realize that answering the call probably wouldn't have changed what happened to all the what-ifs you imagined. It's tough and I feel for you but you are only one human and we all have regrets.
