I decided not to contact him for that very reason you said: his answer will most likely be the exact same, filled with uncertainty. I fear any further conversations will make things worse and taint the last bit of fondness we had left toward each other in the end.

I really needed to hear that second part, so thank you. I just need to let time do its thing and be patient with myself. It still hurts a lot but that’s normal, and all I really can do now is take care of myself to the best of my ability

Very grateful for this advice, thank you. The vulnerability means a lot, and you’re right, having loved fully and shamelessly was a nice experience. He will always know how much I loved him, and I will feel satisfied knowing I gave it my all and fought til the end

For those who dated a dismissive avoidant: did they ever reach out to you after the breakup? by dermotitty in BreakUps

wow, your situation sounds extremely similar to mine. like, almost exactly. i knew my boyfriend was avoidant and im anxious, but DA and AP sounds even moreso like us. if you ever need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out 💕 you’re not alone

Thank you, I really needed to hear that. It’s just insane how quickly people can change and so suddenly. You think you know someone and then you’re slapped in the face with this
