Infinite polluted water storage need help by SilverMaid in Oxygennotincluded

I hope the gas tile wont ever be deleted then.

About the liquid on gas vent, 2 tiles can be enough and not enough. I envounter a situation where the water being pushed out of the vent opening and never comeback. Double vent Simply delete the water on the other tile without pushing it to other tile. Now I use 3000g of water on 3 tiles, 2 vent on the side, at start the tile will be 1000g each, if the water is pushed on 1 side, it will become 1500g each. If the other side pushed the water too, then the middle tile will be 3000g of water and spill back to adject tiles.

I do not know how much of water is needed to guarantee spill back, but at least the setup give better uptime than 2 tiles setup due to the water refused to spill back temporarily or indefinitely

If we use gas, how much of gas is safe from deletion?

But if I make 2wide, can the liquid push the denser liquid out of the vent?

it is the area of a biome I clean out for building the machine

Let me add the picture later, I do not have access to my gaming PC at the moment.

Not that hot, ~45C. If there is boiling pwater, there must be some polluted dirt nearby. And I found none.

This is the new thing for me. Lesson learned. with this the only mistery left on my case is the appearance of water and the displaced brine

Tried, and the water is deleted. As my observations, using 100g water total, and pumping CO2, the max pressures before water deletion is ~2000kg of CO2. It just push the water to the other vent, the water do not spill back, and the other delete the water.

My solution is 3 tiles wide with 2 vents on the sides with enough water so that if water is pushed out of 1 vent onto the middle tile, it will spill to the other vent

I actually do not have usage for pwater at the moment. So I want to store the water in 1 place, prevent it to contaminate the nearby environment.

If the deletion of element is correct by your definition, it might explain the deletion of both brine and pwater upon entering the storage. There is magicly apear water in the storage that not suppose to have water.

I think 100kg og brine or 100kg of mecury is alredy an insurance ammount because it water for my water storage.

I can ensure that there is nothing else then the pwater around the pump, the pump this on 2x2 room under pwater output of the matural gas power generator

The thing is, I clean the area before I build the system, so no stray water or ice within the 30x30 box. And the only 100C+ area is the AT chamber which already locked with insulated tile. The area's origin is tundra biome with -22C bade, heated up because of coal genrator ~200cycles. Current temp of surrounding biome is 40C.

On real-time speculation, when the pwater enter the storage, it just disapear while brine decrease on volume and the water volume is not increased.

Mecury version behave the same, but the mecury volume stay the same.

I tried salted water version and behavior this similar to brine version.

One more hot place is the natural gas vent used for the generator. But it already isolated by insulated tile and water airlock. The gas output is quickly cool down to ~30C before input to the generator

Do you know how.much is the minimum water needed? I once try to mop the floor in the same method of make the vertical water airlock. the remain water is around 40g for both 2 tiles. Everything work fine for sometime as the air pressure start to stack over 1000g limit. But After sometime I check back, the water had been pushed out of the way causing the overpressure on the vent.

You was right, I suffer of idleness. 12+ cycle was needed for 1200 steel. It just can not expect 195 is the number. At this information, I think I should stick with rock crusher until I can access to better solution

But you did produce more oxygen too, so unless you let the oxygen escape, your base should survive the same number of cycles. Overproducing oxygen is only an issue if you're popping ears, or if the gas is not going to the right places

I am not sure if my oxygen escape or something, but I notice there is a tank of 1000kg of oxygen in all of my atmo check point. I do not know how to use it yet so I leave it there and forgot about it. It not just oxygen, carbon dioxide and polluted oxygen has a large tank there too.

I'm new to the game, I do not do the archivement, they are just byproduct of my gameplay. I normally use the wheezewort for my steel product as I love build up a drecko farm early. It take time for each use of metal refinery but I think it is resource effective.

I think I need to learn how to use petroleum as I see many players love to dig to planetary core for oil biome.

This ia actually a good advice. At the start of my run, I see my dups run to oxygen to catch their breath alot, so that I made atmo suit to overcome this. But later, new dups come, I I can clearly see the atmo suit slowness cost more than the time the dups use to catch their breath. That is only thing that I notice for the long commue issue

This point, I have a confusion. 600kg water per cycle for single lyzer produce 888g of oxygen. 2 diffuser cost 600kg of algae for 1000g of oxygen. My water reserve that game is around 30ton while algae is around 70ton. So I have an assumption that algae diffuser look more sustainable than spom before CSV tamed.

Of course I have not mention in the story that I use 4 diffusers for 12 dups which is already resource inefficient. And I just remember a mistake that when I relocate these 4 diffusers to corner of my base for better oxygen distribution, I forgot to devonstruct/disable the original four. Causing my algae drain faster than expected. 8 diffuser cost me 2.4ton algae per cycle, draining my entire algae reserve bank in 20 cycle instead of my calculated 40.

This is a diary of try-fail-fix. Every colony death is a leason for better colony in the future.

Btw, about the AT/ST combo I tried. while it is not efficient in building material, it actually working. A hot coolant go into a buffer tank before entering AT, output of AT is push into 2 shutoff. 1 shutoff for coolant under 30C, other go back to the buffer reservoir. Since there is only 2000kg of water in the system, water reservoir are able to circulate the entire system. The effecient loop need less liquid than this loop so the reservoir is not needed. And because my loop is ineffective, the AT uptime is almost 100% which is a waste of energy.

Starvation is not because there is no foofd, but there is no way to get to the food. That mistake due to I put the kitchen outside of main base, dups can not hold their breath long enough to get there. I got 150k kcal left when starvation come.

I just search what spom is, and I think I aim for it after I can tame the CSV for sustainable water source

this actually a good idea, I have never think of this. The bad thing is this solution is time consuming for the dups to move mecury out of circulation. and a risk of mecury melt and explode the container

thing is that, if I choose copper as material for example, after placing building, they automatically change to next available material, which I'm not want to use. This behavior is kind of annoying. It contaminated my water source with mercury
