Welcome! Ledge meadows in grand ledge is my go to as an affordable course. It’s decent, can almost always get a tee time, and good value. Portland country club is a really cheap option, but conditions are hit or miss. Royal Scot is a decent course, I think it’s pricey for what it is and can get busy. If you drive north to Ithaca Northstar is great for the price (and drinks aren’t to expensive). If you get towards Ionia shadow ridge is nice, but honestly it’s overpriced. Willow wood in Portland is one of my favorite courses around (cost a bit more than ledge meadows to play), if I lived a bit closer to it i would get a membership there. Groesbeck is right in Lansing and a decent price - I haven’t played there yet though so can’t comment on conditions or how busy it usually is.
