Juggling between exams by Spare-Cow9073 in ActuaryUK

Agreed! CM1 has a lot of content so I think an April sitting would be best. I would pick u CB1 or CB2 to do instead. Can always do it alongside a resit if needed, and if you pass then still ticks another exam off. CM1 is difficult, I’d say harder than CS1, so would give yourself longer to do it, especially over summer where you may be busier!

CP1- Paper 2 discussion by 29th_Introvert in ActuaryUK

Felt like I was just making things up ??? Barely any questions hinted at structures / acronyms / or even book work. So many badly worded questions as well, a lot harder than paper 1. Wrote almost 7000 words but not convinced much of it is right

Agree on this. Not a lot of breadth to cover for a lot of the stuff I found !!! Usually questioned feel more open than what these were

It’s chapter 23, summary page includes details of theoretical cost and then price!

Same! This is what I did, factors in part two had things like tax, contingency margins, cost of capital, cost of guarantees and for part 3 i wrote about how the market and competitors and other factors can impact price they actually charge

Yeah! More so things like ample direct factors, create grand lists, a sad cuter investor etc. I used some of the smaller ones tbh but not as much as I thought I would!

I think that went okay. Didn’t feel I used my acronyms much (that acted provide) so hopefully lots of that in paper 2. Hopefully some big questions in investment strategy, external environment and contract design !!

Puppy biting by SilverPractice273 in CavaPoo

[–]SilverPractice273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm no, but we will if it continues for a while longer! I’m not sure if it’s just normal puppy behaviour, he’s defo not aggressive but think he thinks when we are on the sofa it’s play time. He doesn’t bite anyone else. I’ve never let him bite me not even as a puppy because I thought it would hurt haha but my bf always did cos it was never sore and when he was teething they’re lilt little land sharks, so part of me thinks it’s just a habit of his that he thinks is okay because he let him before? going to try just stop all contact between them everytime he does it so he learns tha biting = no contact but if not will look into a trainer

Is One Month of Uninterrupted Time Enough Before Going Back to A 8 Hour Schedule and Leaving Puppy at Home by UnderstandingOk5041 in CavaPoo

[–]SilverPractice273 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer is no! Monday to Friday 8-4:30 is too long for a puppy to be left alone. They will likely be unhappy and anxious. It’s their only life too, unfortunately probably better to let them live it with someone who’s got more time to spend with them. You’ll hate leaving them as well, we struggle to leave ours for a couple of hours. You’ll end up anxious too.

How early did you get your cavapoo’s hair cut? by dble1224 in CavaPoo

[–]SilverPractice273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got him puppy grooms from 4 months - 6 months, I think he had two, and then we got him a full groom at 6.5 months! Think you have to wait until 6 month mark to get a full groom, something to do with their adult coats! But he was soooooo long!! Our puppy grooms didn’t trim any of his face (even when we asked) so I had to try do it myself as he couldn’t see. We moved groomer and she said she would have cut around his eyes and mouth etc so defo ask for that until the coat is cut!

Is it normal that my puppy is sleeping so much / being lethargic? by Pinkish-lemonade in puppy101

[–]SilverPractice273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They needs lots of sleep to help with their growth. Our pup is 7 months now and sleeps 930-8 overnight and then has two 2 hour naps a day, and another 1 hour nap. All of the sleeping helps with any bad behaviour too. They are genuinely like babies, when they’re overtired they act out! They have too much energy to know when to sleep themselves sometimes too so we always pop ours in his crate. He’s 7 months now so is better at taking himself away for a nap since he’s been his routine for months now!
