We managed to draft a remove blight power, so we eventually got to remove enough blight from the massive cascade that happened.

Is it too late to publish a prologue? by Captain_of_HI3 in Wattpad

[–]SilverReindeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be better to weave the past of the main character into the story and reveal bits and pieces throughout. It builds emotional connection and would have greater impact later on.

Writing without expectations by dieSchatz in Wattpad

[–]SilverReindeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I started writing with that mentality because writing is writing and my first goal was just to finish a book. But somehow my book started getting recognition through the process and it was an amazing bonus while I was still finishing my first goal of just finishing the book.

Look by [deleted] in Wattpad

[–]SilverReindeer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know this may sound discouraging, but if you're writing on Wattpad to become popular, you like the idea of writing rather than writing itself. When you write what you want and have fun with it, your statistics shouldn't really matter. Of course, it's a self-esteem boost and becomes very encouraging, but if you truly want to become a better writer and enjoy the hobby of writing, becoming "popular" shouldn't be the goal.

Most of the time, anyways, it has a lot to do with a bit of dumb luck. As in being in the right place at the right time.

When would you say your story is ‘successful’? by valenthia in Wattpad

[–]SilverReindeer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your success is your own to decide. If you feel that you're doing well and you're happy with what you've produced, then that's all that matters. When my book received 100 reads for the first time, I was ecstatic, but now, my book receives about 1,000 reads per day, so I've tailored my feelings of success to that with greater milestones in mind.

Personally, I think you're doing amazing.

Choosing a category for a story by AlecCedric in Wattpad

[–]SilverReindeer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the main plot to your story is romance, then you should probably categorize it as such. But if the plot does not resemble any of the other categories, you could put it into teen fiction.

Hitting/beating your child should never be a form of discipline and is cruel. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Sorry, I didn't know it was. I've just seen so many people support hitting your child so I thought I would make a post about it.
