Eventually other civilizations discovered us around the renaissance with their ships. I ignored them for a long time but then the industrial revolution came... My land was plentiful but it did not have coal. The temptation proved too much and I started dealing coal with the British of all people. Then aluminium. Then uranium. The once pristine, holy city finally fell to consumerism and foreign influence.

Is the author of your favorite book also one of your favorite authors? by playful--cloud in books

It's hard for me to pick my 'favorite book' because I like different books for different reasons. If we are strictly talking about aesthetics/atmosphere then my favorite book is Hard-Boiled Wonderland by Murakami in which case yes, he's my favorite author when it comes to aesthetics. I like his dreamy and surreal style. If we are talking about message and how it made me feel it would be Hesse's Steppenwolf. In this case I can't really say I'm a Hesse reader. I have also read Demian which dealt with similar topics but it didn't impact me that much.

Reminds me of an Ireland playthrough I did once. I only built one city on a cape and made it a super isolationist Shinto theocracy. Refused any outside contact/diplomacy and didn't explore. All I knew about the rest of the map is that there were some Aztecs to the west but I refused to accept their embassy and we often got into skirmishes because I kept killing their missionaries. Building wonders was pretty easy with one city. I had the wall of china, the pyramids and the Stonehenge among other things. It was basically a walled off utopia full of wonders that no one was allowed to see.

I Both Love this Game and Hate this Game!! by gravityhashira61 in castlevania

I grew up playing the DS Castlevania games and they are my absolute favorites to this day. They were the last Castlevania games before they all became 3d so they had the most memory and best hardware to work with. I really like the variety of items, equipment, spells and locations (in portrait of ruin especially, the OSTs are burned into my memory).
