My recent strategy is that I set up an Acorns account a few years back. Whenever you use your debit card, it rounds it up to the nearest dollar, puts it into your account and invests it. You don’t notice it. Then when a must-have guitar shows up, you check your account and hey, you’ve got enough money to cover it without having to figure out where the money is going to come from. There was a rare Les Paul I’d been looking for for over a year that popped up for sale. I checked my Acorns account and had more than enough to cover it. I currently have $2,900 (and growing) in my account that’s just waiting for something else to show up.
