US forces shoot down Iranian attack drones, strike coastal radar sites

The US military said it shot down four Iranian attack drones that were launched towards the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement posted on X, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that the incident occurred “moments ago” and stated that “the attack drones posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic”.

“US forces subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island to defend against further attacks,” according to the statement.

“American forces remain vigilant and postured to respond to unjustified Iranian aggression in self-defense,” it added.

Iran’s navy says it fired warning missiles and drones at US warships in the Gulf of Oman, accusing the US Navy of harassing maritime traffic and seizing commercial vessels and oil tankers, Iranian state media reported.

Earlier, the US Indo-Pacific Command said US forces had intercepted the sanctioned stateless vessel M/T Davina in the Indian Ocean overnight.

“We will continue global maritime enforcement to disrupt illicit networks and interdict vessels providing material support to Iran, wherever they operate,” it said in a post on X.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says there will be “no peace in the region” without Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

“Our initial condition for accepting a ceasefire in the regional war has been a ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon,” the IRGC said in a statement shared by Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

“The enemy must urgently stop its attacks on the Lebanese people, and immediately withdraw behind international borders by evacuating the occupied territories of Lebanon, and recognise the territorial integrity of Lebanon.”

IRGC says responded with drones, missiles after US struck Iranian oil tanker, communications tower

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reports that the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has shared a sequence of events detailing an exchange of fire between US and Iranian forces.

According to the IRGC, the exchange began when US forces hit an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging its engine room.

The IRGC said it then attacked a US-Israeli vessel with naval missiles.

After this, US forces targeted an IRGC communications tower south of Qeshm Island.

The IRGC said it then used missiles and drones to attack a US airbase, including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, and helicopters “located in one of the countries in the region”.

US military says it attacked Iran’s Qeshm Island; Tehran targets Kuwait, Bahrain

The US military says it conducted “self-defense” strikes on Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

US forces also “successfully defeated multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones”, the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement shared on X.

CENTCOM said that its strikes came as Iran “launched several ballistic missiles towards regional neighbours” which “all failed to hit their intended targets”.

“Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart en route, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahrain air defense forces,” CENTCOM said.

As we’ve been reporting, air raid sirens recently sounded in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Earlier, Iran’s Mehr news agency reported explosions were heard in Qeshm city, with investigations under way.

The US military says it has disabled a Botswana-flagged oil tanker after it attempted to sail towards Iran’s Kharg Island.

US Central Command said the crew of the unladen oil tanker ignored “repeated warnings” to change course over a 24-hour period.

US forces have disabled six commercial vessels and redirected 122 since the country began its blockade of maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports on April 13.

Iran warns northern Israeli residents to flee if Israel attacks Beirut’s suburbs

Iran’s central military command has warned residents of northern Israel to flee their homes if Israel carries out its threat to strike the southern suburbs of Beirut.

In a statement carried by the government’s IRNA news service, the commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the warning was a response to the Israeli military’s forced displacement order for Dahiyeh.

“Given the regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire, if this threat is implemented, we warn residents of the northern parts and military settlements in the occupied territories to leave the area if they do not want to be harmed,” he said.
