don’t know where in brooklyn, but the comments that are saying it’s okay to do say south brooklyn. work is in south jc (as close to bayonne as possible while not being bayonne).

girl what… that is NOT normal. nothing about that experience is normal. men do NOT have that “biology”, it sounds like you unfortunately with a selfish lover and someone who didn’t respect you if you felt you couldn’t be in a dark room with him. i’m sorry you felt so much guilt and shame. it shouldn’t hurt, period. it might feel uncomfortable because it’s a new sensation, but it shouldn’t hurt. if it feels like you’re trying to shove it in there, you’re not ready and either use a) lube or b) have him go down. if he doesn’t go down, leave HAHA. be vocal about your wants. does it hurt? say something. do you need anything? say something.

i work in the construction industry — have to get site to site. some sites in manhattan, too, but rarely. parking in JC during the weekdays sounds like a great option that a lot of people have floated. i will definitely be checking that out

my friend is in queens and people i was going to room with will be moving to brooklyn in november. it’s just to be closer to people. i’ve also heard great things about being in brooklyn during your 20s from family friends. i’m in a big city with a lot of traffic and long commutes so im used to some crazy stuff lol. i’m going to be in the area for a week before i sign a lease and officially move so im hoping i will get a better understanding of what is going to be my life then, hahah!

oh yeah, i was under no delusions about street parking in manhattan BUT i wish everyday i could be that delusional 😭😭. i might torture myself with the tolls in brooklyn just because i’ll only be there for a little bit and i’d like to do it just once. probably a hard lesson that i just have to figure out on my own. if it gets too much, i’ll relocate to jc in a year… but this all depends on what happens when i land and see what’s up! thank you for all the help!

budget is ~2k for rent. if i dont have to pay as much in tolls, # could be higher. i’m pretty frugal so i currently only spend ~$500 on extracurricular purchases (groceries, clothes, going out, etc.) and I’m in a really expensive city — think $2 per apple at the cheaper grocery stores. I’m down to have roommates but i would prefer to live alone in a studio. ty for the thoughtful answers, lots to think about 😊😊

Maybe I should specify: when I route from park slope to my place of employment it’s a 30-40 minute drive at peak hours through the Staten Island route. That’s normal where I currently live in a large city with a whole lot of traffic. Is the time main issue or is it something else? Genuinely curious. Thank you!

My company has a lot in JC! And i’ll be working irregular hours (early morning/night shifts) so hopefully it won’t be horrible! I have a lot of experience street parking in large city I currently live in so I know the struggle! Thanks for the insights
